Overview

The third of the five strongest, and a Saiyan — “the father of all Super Saiyans”, who ascended over 1000 years ago by murdering six Saiyans close to him, and whose power blew up planet Sadala (ep 0055 00:02:43–00:09:36): “the first, and the only, true, Super Saiyan God” (ep 0054 00:35:05–00:35:30). Black-haired, with a symbol on his cheek and “divine clothing” and armour (ep 0053 00:36:44; ep 0054 00:14:14). He fought Vegito as an equal, was dragged through two pasts by Vegito’s time rings, turned the rings against him, and then took a red-haired “true final form… 1000 times stronger than before”, leaving Vegito sure he can’t win (ep 0054 00:07:38–00:37:42).

As of the latest episode (ep 0261): after being beaten by Jiren, he was forced into Vegito by Potara (ep 0058 00:35:31–00:36:36) and has spent most of the story inside him, coming out at times — to guide Vegito through the demon realm as Seraphim Yamoshi and the Ikari God (eps 0107–0127) — and going back in by his own offer (ep 0127 00:37:11–00:39:24). For the Elder Gods’ tournament he trains with Vegito’s team as “an ascended Ikari God” and gets a share of Zeus’s lightning (ep 0240 00:02:53–00:27:23). In his last appearance he is outside Vegito again, tells him “We were never really free”, and has given his Zeus energy to Dai (ep 0257 00:07:20–00:08:47, 00:15:04).

  • Goku and Vegeta: fellow Saiyans inside Vegito, and teammates against him in training (ep 0240 00:02:53–00:27:23).
  • Orders from the Grand Priest and Zeno: bring Vegito to them — “this… Is not personal… It’s just… Business” (ep 0056 00:27:21–00:27:40); later he gives up on taking him back “in one piece” (ep 0056 00:36:23).

  • Reads Vegito’s thoughts and answers them (ep 0055 00:02:43, 00:07:17).

Returning to his primal roots” (like Broly’s Ikari eyes, per Goku) (ep 0080 00:04:35–00:05:23); “some kind of ascended variant of his true Super Saiyan God form” (ep 0080 00:07:11–00:07:27); then a new, unnamed form — shorter hair, a second scar (ep 0080 00:22:59–00:24:20). Open questions

  • Is he the legendary first Super Saiyan of the source series? Not stated outright; he calls himself “the first, and the only, true, Super Saiyan God” (ep 0054 00:35:05) and “the father of all Super Saiyans” (ep 0055 00:02:43–00:09:36). How a Saiyan became one of the five isn’t said. See yamoshi.
  • “This brings back memories!” at the tournament (ep 0054 00:19:05) — has he been there before? Never explained.
  • Why do Vegito’s time rings obey him? See rings-obey.
