Aliases & name spellings

  • Broly; “Lord Broly”, “Broly-san” (Merus). “the one called Broly” (mentioned, ep 0001). Misheard “Brolin” once (ep 0065 00:44:18). See names.
  • Legendary Angel Broly — his fusion with Merus (ep 0065 00:49:15–00:49:19).

Overview

The Saiyan from the source series, now God of Destruction of Universe 7 — the god Whis appointed during Vegito’s ten years in chains (ep 0065 00:02:58–00:03:51). He lives on Vampa with Cheelai and Lemo (ep 0065 00:04:39–00:04:48). He was present, silent, when the eleven destroyers erased Earth — forced, he says, by Belmod and Champa’s threat to Vampa (ep 0065 00:09:39–00:10:37, 00:39:36–00:40:49). Trained for decades in the Pyramid of Power with his angel Merus, he now sees Vegito as the monster and means to stop him (ep 0065 00:41:10–00:43:18). He reaches Super Saiyan God — “the second true Super Saiyan God in history” — and fuses with Merus into Legendary Angel Broly (ep 0065 00:47:22–00:49:19). As Legendary Angel Broly he offers forgiveness and to restore Earth; refused, he beats Vegito’s final ultra form with blows too fast to see, mocks him as a “talentless brute” beside “a genius that comes once every millennia”, and — sensing Lucif’s energy in Demon Vegito — resolves to end him “For the good of the multiverse” (ep 0066). He then drags Vegito to an icy planet and batters him — “Spawn of Lucif!” — but once Vegito’s power surges, Broly’s wrist and windpipe are broken and he is engulfed in Vegito’s goo. With his last words he warns that only “Father” can stop the great demon’s power now. The figure that rises from the goo looks “a little too much like Broly” (ep 0068). He lives on inside Vegito: let out to train Vegeta for decades in the Pyramid of Power (ep 0076–0082), he was reabsorbed (ep 0085 00:24:31–00:25:22) and, as of ep 0206, still trains inside Vegito’s mind (ep 0206 00:17:41–00:19:52).

Affiliations & relationships

Abilities / traits

  • Ikari form — yellow eyes with black pupils; in it he takes Vegito’s base punches without moving and kicks him across space (ep 0065 00:36:13–00:37:59).
  • A power that “Grows and improves in every second of battle” (Merus, ep 0065 00:45:07–00:45:13).
  • “Full power Super Saiyan 4” (as heard): bulked body, green-tinted hair, no pupils (ep 0065 00:46:05–00:46:18).
  • Super Saiyan God — red eyes, long red hair, slimmer body, a darkened cheek scar like Yamoshi’s mark (inferred); “The second true Super Saiyan God in history” (ep 0065 00:46:30–00:47:38).
  • Legendary Angel Broly — fused with Merus: “The first fusion between a Saiyan God, A God of Destruction and Angel” (ep 0065 00:48:31–00:49:19).
  • Unseen strikes: he seems not to move, yet hits Vegito repeatedly; “the most perfect of instincts gained from Merus”; blocks a blind-spot blow without turning (ep 0066 00:06:47–00:13:13). Knows the five from Whis as “Protectors of the multiverse and gatekeepers to the demon realm” (ep 0066 00:04:04–00:04:13).
  • ep 0067: the angels’ fighting stance, “perfectly mastered by his Merus [?] side”; Ultra Instinct dodging; a mouth beam “like the primitive saiyan he once was”; vanishing mid-beam (ep 0067 00:12:15–00:17:50).
  • ep 0068: drags a foe through space to a planet of his choosing (ep 0068 00:07:43–00:08:17); a point-blank green mouth beam that catches himself in the blast too; rises in “dark green divine energy” (ep 0068 00:13:59–00:17:50).
  • Legendary angel of destruction (ep 0077) — out of Vegito with “all his fused powers intact”, Merus still speaking within him; at Merus’s urging he adds his Hakaishin training to his angel powers: blank purple eyes, four Hakaishin symbols on his chest (ep 0077 00:24:41–00:26:19). “Not since the days Whis trained me” (ep 0077 00:26:45–00:26:50).
  • ep 0081: his left eye turns completely purple — destroyer power “Combined with his angelic fusion with Merus”; his full form now mastered: pupil-less purple eyes and a changed “angelic ring around his neck” (ep 0081 00:11:35–00:11:41, 00:14:50–00:15:36); green blasts and a mouth beam (ep 0081 00:22:43–00:23:16, 00:29:40–00:30:02).
