Summary

Devil Kazuya follows the shattered blade with a twisting punch that spins Vegito through two mountains, then calls down black lightning that burns him to a crisp (ep 0139 00:01:48–00:07:37). Lifted by the hair, Vegito escapes as blood and attacks from behind with an energy ball, but it falls apart from Kazuya’s pressure alone (ep 0139 00:09:36–00:12:26). Betting again on energy, Vegito fires a Galick Gun from high above and dares Kazuya to dodge it; Kazuya pierces it with a thin black beam from two fingers that goes on through Vegito’s chest (ep 0139 00:13:15–00:18:06). Healing drops Vegito back to base form; with no time rings and no way out of the sector except beating its emperor, he tries a Solar Flare, but Kazuya — back in human form and unaffected — catches his kick and smashes him around like a rag doll (ep 0139 00:18:55–00:22:52). Kazuya, saying the Devil Gene’s final stage has strengthened all his forms, breaks Vegito’s spine with a knee and drives him into the ground with a black-lightning axe kick in his full Devil form (ep 0139 00:22:52–00:28:17). Declaring the God-Killer beaten, Kazuya decides that such a legend deserves better than death: he buries Vegito in a sinkhole as a trophy, to be challenged again in millennia (ep 0139 00:28:37–00:30:44). In his mind, Vegito apologises to Yamoshi and Broly: Kaioken would be suicide at his power, and everything he has failed; Broly suggests one of them might win where Vegito can’t (ep 0139 00:31:06–00:34:34). Kazuya, gloating to the absent Lucif that the fast-moving demon realm has made him stronger than Lucif, is turned around by a column of energy from the hole (ep 0139 00:34:57–00:37:09). Out rises Ultra Gogeta, blonde with green Seraphim eyes, now in control of everyone’s power instead of Vegito (ep 0139 00:37:31–00:38:55).

Key events

  • 00:01:04–00:01:48 The God Slayer Blade lies shattered; Vegito, for once, doubts he has any way out.
  • 00:01:48–00:03:44 Kazuya’s punch, twisting on impact, spins Vegito through two mountains.
  • 00:03:44–00:04:38 Vegito: even normal punches can finish him now.
  • 00:04:38–00:05:09 Kazuya: this is why no mortal should set foot in the demon realm.
  • 00:05:28–00:07:37 Kazuya calls down black lightning; Vegito is fried to the bone and charred.
  • 00:08:07–00:09:00 Kazuya: Vegito was once Lucif’s sole vessel and took power from his fellow emperors, only to be stopped by the one who will rule above them all.
  • 00:09:36–00:10:34 Grabbed by the hair, Vegito bursts into blood (Kenji’s technique); Kazuya names Kenji.
  • 00:10:34–00:12:26 Vegito’s energy ball, aimed at Kazuya’s back, disintegrates from Kazuya’s presence “like a Hakai”.
  • 00:13:15–00:14:52 From high above, Vegito charges a Galick Gun — Kazuya beats him on strength, but not energy; dodge it and the sector goes.
  • 00:15:24–00:16:13 Kazuya waits, arms folded.
  • 00:16:36–00:18:06 A thin black beam from two of Kazuya’s fingers tears through the Galick Gun and through Vegito’s chest.
  • 00:18:33–00:19:15 Vegito heals, but drops to base form; no time rings, and no way out of the sector unless he beats its emperor.
  • 00:20:32–00:21:46 A Solar Flare blinds the whole sector — but not Kazuya, who catches Vegito’s kick in human form: “You’re in base, kid!”
  • 00:22:03–00:22:52 Kazuya slams Vegito into the ground over and over and throws him skyward.
  • 00:22:52–00:23:32 Kazuya: the Devil Gene’s final stage has boosted all his other states; he chases in his winged form.
  • 00:23:51–00:24:40 A knee under Vegito’s chin; Kazuya: beating Vegito is even more satisfying than beating Jin (as heard).
  • 00:24:40–00:26:17 A blow to the stomach from above, then a knee to the spine as Vegito falls; his vertebrae shatter.
  • 00:26:43–00:28:17 Back in full Devil form, Kazuya brings down a black-lightning axe kick; Vegito crashes into the ground and lies still.
  • 00:28:37–00:28:59 Kazuya: Vegito beat the gods and most emperors, but in the Devil Gene he met his maker.
  • 00:29:18–00:29:41 Such a death would be unfitting; Vegito will be his trophy, challenged again millennia from now.
  • 00:30:05–00:30:44 Kazuya opens a sinkhole under Vegito, who falls into an endless chasm.
  • 00:30:44–00:31:49 Vegito wakes unhurt — inside his own mind, beside Yamoshi and Broly — and apologises: he reached his limit.
  • 00:31:49–00:32:30 Yamoshi: he thought he was beaten before, against Yamoshi; what about Kaioken?
  • 00:32:30–00:33:30 Vegito: Kaioken wrecked his body at the cellular level for a week; at his power now it would be suicide; nothing works.
  • 00:33:49–00:34:34 Broly: it’s Vegito’s techniques and fighting style that can’t beat Kazuya — “maybe… One of us could”.
  • 00:34:57–00:35:47 Kazuya, to the absent Lucif: he has reached a form like Lucif’s and passed him, since time in the demon realm “moves infinitely faster”; he awaits Lucif’s return for revenge, after reclaiming his throne.
  • 00:36:26–00:37:09 A column of energy blasts from the hole.
  • 00:37:31–00:38:26 Ultra Gogeta rises: blonde like a Super Saiyan, with green Seraphim eyes — “with an all new form”.
  • 00:38:26–00:38:55 Gogeta: he now has control of everyone’s power instead of Vegito.

Uncertainties

  • Gogeta’s last words are garbled (“how a real Fusion 5”, probably “fusion fights”).
  • How Gogeta came out — whether he defused from Vegito, replaced him, or is Vegito changed — isn’t stated; Kazuya’s words (“He’s different! He’s changed!”) and Gogeta’s (“full control of everybody’s power instead of Vegito”) suggest Gogeta has taken Vegito’s place; next episode Vegito speaks from inside “the fused warrior’s mind” and is driven out when Gogeta becomes Stardust Gogeta (ep 0140 00:30:19–00:34:13), so Gogeta had taken over with Vegito inside him.
  • “Jin” (00:24:23, 00:24:40) is taken to be Kazuya’s son, mentioned in ep 0138 (inferred).
  • The narration once calls Kazuya “Vegeta” (00:23:32)
  • Kazuya says time in the demon realm “moves infinitely faster” (00:35:25) — see the retcon entry demon-time-rate.
