Summary

Whis’s staff drops Vegito, back in base form, in empty space; sensing a familiar energy, he remembers that Whis had appointed a new God of Destruction — and Broly, youthful and in a destroyer’s uniform, reveals it was him (ep 0065 00:00:47–00:04:09). Broly says he, Cheelai and Lemo are safe on Vampa, and Whis’s successor as Universe 7’s angel turns out to be Merus, Vegito’s old teacher (ep 0065 00:04:24–00:06:32). When Broly won’t say how he knows about Earth, Vegito looks into Whis’s staff — Broly calls it Whis’s “parting gift” — and sees Broly among the eleven destroyers at Earth’s erasure, silent, eyes closed; Broly admits he was there but had “no choice” (ep 0065 00:06:52–00:11:49). Vegito’s fury erupts — and across the multiverse Jiren, too, wakes screaming: he has survived Makoto’s thousand slashes and rises with black Hakaishin markings and, for the first time, two horns, calling the power “darkness… what corrupted Son Goku” (ep 0065 00:11:55–00:15:56). Jiren dodges Makoto’s blade, takes his katana and erases it with a Hakai, then fights the enraged blood angel to a deadlock; Makoto breaks Jiren’s hand, Jiren snaps it back, and they trade blows at full power, Jiren vowing to use demonic power “for justice” (ep 0065 00:16:18–00:36:02). Back with Vegito, Broly — already in his Ikari form — shrugs off his punches and kicks him away, and Merus urges Vegito to hear Broly out (ep 0065 00:36:07–00:38:34). Broly explains: Belmod and Champa forced him to be present by threatening Vampa; Whis then left him the Pyramid of Power, where he met Merus and trained; he once hoped to restore Earth, but Vegito’s slaughter of innocent gods and dealings with demons made him the monster, so Broly trained for decades more to stop him (ep 0065 00:39:36–00:43:18). As Vegito powers up, Broly transforms past his full-power form into a red-haired Super Saiyan God — “the second true Super Saiyan God in history” after Yamoshi — and Merus, saying “Goodbye again, Son Goku”, fuses with him: Legendary Angel Broly, the first fusion of a Saiyan God, a God of Destruction and an angel (ep 0065 00:43:24–00:49:27).

Key events

  • 00:01:17–00:01:29 Vegito: “that little rat Mule wasn’t lying… Whis’ staff took me somewhere. But surely, I’ve been to every universe already.”
  • 00:02:03–00:02:27 He senses “an extremely familiar source of energy… first detected… back during the Freeza saga”: “Universe 2 or… Could it be Universe 7?”
  • 00:02:45–00:03:06 He remembers: when Whis freed him, “He appointed a new god of destruction, didn’t he? His powers were back”.
  • 00:03:08–00:03:11 A voice: “It was I, Vegito… He chose me…”
  • 00:03:43–00:04:09 Broly, “youthful as ever… Draped in his own god of destruction uniform… as the new destroyer of Universe 7”: “Hello, old friend”.
  • 00:04:39–00:04:48 Broly: “I lived on Vampa… I know what happened to Earth… But Cheelai, Lemo and I are all okay”.
  • 00:05:45–00:06:32 A blue hand taps Vegito’s shoulder: Merus, “The successor of Whis… Now in his full angel attire”: Broly “Is indeed the new God of destruction of Universe 7… as the new angel of this universe also”.
  • 00:06:58–00:07:38 Vegito: “How do you know about what happened to Earth?… Were you there?” Broly stays silent; “Tell me you coward!… You talk, or I will beat it out of you”.
  • 00:07:54–00:08:03 Merus, feeling Vegito’s energy: “What… What have you become?”
  • 00:08:13–00:08:27 Broly: “You have Whis’ staff… He told me before he finally left what he intended to do… that was his parting gift. So look into it yourself”.
  • 00:08:47–00:09:29 The staff shows the eleven destroyers over Earth; Champa: “We shall do this for Beerus!”
  • 00:09:39–00:10:37 Beside Mule’s robot, a hidden silhouette in destroyer clothing: Broly, “Along with the other 11 guilty destroyers of earth… Remaining silent… eyes closed… Not interfering at all”.
  • 00:10:59–00:11:49 Broly: “Yes… I was there… Because I had no choice… I’m sorry, Kakarot [?]… No choice!”
  • 00:12:29–00:12:46 “As if eternally linked”, Jiren wakes screaming after Makoto’s slashes.
  • 00:13:01–00:13:11 Makoto: “Jiren the Grey… The first to survive my 1000 bloody slashes”.
  • 00:13:36–00:14:01 Jiren’s power-up throws up an oval of energy that skims off the planet’s surface.
  • 00:14:49–00:15:16 A new form: blackened eyes, Hakaishin symbols now in black, purple ornaments on his chest, and “For the first time… two demon horns… Just as they did with Vegito [?]”.
  • 00:15:28–00:15:56 Jiren: “It is the same that came out in the pyramid… This energy is not who I am… This is darkness… So, this is what corrupted Son Goku”.
  • 00:16:18–00:16:35 “Defeating you will be the perfect test to know if I am ready to avenge him.”
  • 00:17:33–00:18:11 He dodges Makoto’s charge so fast his after-images remain; the Bloody Slash never comes.
  • 00:18:34–00:18:53 A right to the jaw sends Makoto flying and knocks the katana from his hand; Makoto: “these mortals are evolving into demons faster than expected” (00:19:28).
  • 00:20:09–00:20:33 Jiren picks up the katana: “They don’t make weapons like these where I’m from… Master Gicchin would have loved this”.
  • 00:20:51–00:20:58 Makoto: “Angel grade weapons will only eventually lose their edge the more they are used by ones who are demonic”.
  • 00:21:13–00:22:09 Jiren: “Weapons are not even my style… HAKAI” — the blood angel’s “legendary blade” turns to dust.
  • 00:24:14–00:25:31 Jiren catches Makoto’s kick and spins him until his flesh peels, then throws him into the sky.
  • 00:26:07–00:26:56 Their fists clash, black lightning against red, in a huge explosion.
  • 00:27:39–00:27:53 Makoto fires blood feathers “Much like what Z did”; Jiren knocks them away with one chop.
  • 00:28:06–00:29:02 Jiren’s eyes flash red; Makoto freezes, then feels many unseen blows at once — “This is your death, warrior” — and barely survives.
  • 00:30:21–00:30:54 Makoto kicks Jiren’s right hand and wrist, breaking them.
  • 00:32:57–00:33:26 Jiren snaps his wrist back into place.
  • 00:33:53–00:34:27 Makoto: “you are far stronger than what we gods had anticipated… to stand toe to toe with a seraphim… It’s a shame you didn’t have time to progress into a full demon… I wonder if your power would ever have reached the level of Lucif [?]”.
  • 00:34:42–00:34:55 Jiren: “You gods have always underestimated mortals… That led Belmod to his death”. Makoto calls Belmod “that clown god” (00:35:09).
  • 00:35:24–00:35:27 Jiren: “These powers may be demonic, But they will be used for justice.”
  • 00:35:46–00:36:02 They land punches at the same instant.
  • 00:36:13–00:36:48 Vegito’s punches barely move Broly, who catches one in his palm.
  • 00:37:00–00:37:29 Broly’s eyes are yellow with black pupils — “his Ikari form”; Vegito: “Bit unfair, Broly, when I haven’t bothered to transform just yet”.
  • 00:37:36–00:37:59 A kick to the gut sends Vegito coughing blood through space.
  • 00:38:07–00:38:34 Merus catches him: “It is better you hear out Lord Broly first… do not underestimate him”.
  • 00:38:45–00:39:13 Vegito: “destroyers and angels like you are mere ants to me now… if he or you are involved in the deaths of my sons, my wives, my friends, then you will pay”.
  • 00:39:36–00:40:49 Broly: “I did not participate… I was against it… Belmod and Champa were the ones who approached me… they would come after Vampa next… What else could I do but agree?”
  • 00:41:10–00:41:31 “after Whis had told me about what he planned to do with you, He left me with the pyramid of power… where I would eventually meet my new angel Merus”.
  • 00:41:38–00:41:46 He hoped to protect Universe 7 “But also find a way to bring back Earth”.
  • 00:42:01–00:42:21 “I heard about how you were senselessly killing the gods… Innocent victims… you became a monster who would even work with the demons themselves”.
  • 00:42:54–00:43:18 “I went back into the pyramid… For decades… I’m the monster now”.
  • 00:43:36–00:43:51 Vegito: “You not only watched and did nothing… You also now dare… insult my brand of justice”.
  • 00:44:43–00:44:54 Merus: “perhaps your greatest teacher ever, Even beyond Brother Whis, The one who finally taught you to enter your mastered ultra instinct at will”.
  • 00:45:05–00:45:29 Broly’s power “Grows and improves in every second of battle”; “You have a better chance of defeating Father than defeating the two of us together”.
  • 00:46:05–00:46:18 Broly’s “Full power Super Saiyan 4” (as heard): bulked, green-tinted hair, no pupils.
  • 00:46:30–00:47:10 Red eyes; red hair growing far down his back; his body slims; his cheek scar grows darker, “To resemble a certain other legendary Saiyan”.
  • 00:47:22–00:47:38 “The second true Super Saiyan God in history… Previously only ever achievable by Yamoshi himself”.
  • 00:47:57–00:48:07 Yamoshi, inside Vegito, is stunned, “As if he was looking in the mirror”.
  • 00:48:20–00:48:29 Merus: “The limits of Broly-san have only just been scratched”.
  • 00:48:31–00:48:47 As when he died in the Moro saga: “Goodbye again, Son Goku” — his body turns to white light.
  • 00:49:04–00:49:19 “The first fusion between a Saiyan God, a God of Destruction and Angel… Legendary Angel Broly”.
  • 00:49:20–00:49:27 “Angel Saiyan versus Demon Saiyan”.

Threads

Uncertainties

  • Which universe this is isn’t stated outright; Vegito guesses “Universe 7” (00:02:24) and Broly is “the new destroyer of Universe 7” (00:03:51). The energy “first detected… during the Freeza saga” (00:02:03) isn’t named — Broly’s own (inferred), or the Yardrats [?] Vegito senses first (00:02:01).
  • Vegito’s question at 00:11:17–00:11:35 is missing from the transcript.
  • The staff’s vision shows “the other 11 guilty destroyers” plus Broly (00:10:20) — twelve present, though earlier episodes counted eleven who attacked Earth. See retcons.
  • the description matches Broly’s Legendary Super Saiyan form (inferred).
  • “Just like you tried all those years ago” (00:43:07) — probably the source-series fight with Goku (inferred).
