Episode 0138 Title ULTRA Vegito Cannot Beat Devil Kazuya Released 2024-06-14 Length 41:16 Setting the demon realm, sector 2 — Kazuya’s office tower, then the ground and sky around it Watch YouTube ↗
Summary
Kazuya explains himself: he was the longest-reigning Devil of the demon realm, unchallenged until a banished fallen angel — Lucif — climbed through the emperors and beat him in a close fight; since Lucif’s departure he expects to return to the throne, and he has waited for Lucif’s “next vessel”, the god killer, to measure himself against (ep 0138 00:03:12–00:05:12). Vegito doesn’t believe Kazuya ever beat Lucif and invites him to join the army inside him; Kazuya warns that the Devil Gene consumes those who can’t control it — “Just ask my son” (ep 0138 00:05:41–00:07:37). They trade blows evenly, then head-butt; Kazuya bleeds first, and Vegito kicks and blasts him across the office (ep 0138 00:08:20–00:11:59). A purple laser from Kazuya’s third eye goes through Vegito’s hand and mouth; Vegito regrows them with his Buu abilities, but a second laser and a roundhouse kick send him out of the tower (ep 0138 00:12:23–00:16:24). Kazuya strips off his shirt to show tribal tattoos: the Devil Gene’s next stage, which wakes only for a worthy challenger and grows stronger to match him (ep 0138 00:17:49–00:19:11). Vegito answers with his black-and-green Seraphim eyes, gained from the emperors he absorbed, and the gap closes; their clash shakes the sector apart (ep 0138 00:20:29–00:27:48). Losing on raw strength, Vegito switches to energy: his Special Beam Cannon overwhelms Kazuya’s eye laser, and Kazuya, smiling, calls him the “second coming of Lucif” he wanted (ep 0138 00:28:37–00:33:11). As Vegito moves to collect the body, a giant blast from the smoke floors him, and Devil Kazuya — the Devil Gene’s final takeover, a scaled demon with blood-red eyes — steps out, vowing to reclaim his throne and take revenge on Lucif (ep 0138 00:34:04–00:37:41). Vegito swings his God Slayer Blade at Kazuya’s head and it shatters like glass; Vegito admits he can’t beat him (ep 0138 00:38:03–00:40:14).
Key events
- 00:01:03–00:02:00 Kazuya, partly transformed, with a monstrous apparition behind him, is the Devil before Lucif; Vegito and Yamoshi inside him are both stunned.
- 00:02:21–00:02:50 Vegito, green Seraphim eyes, demands an explanation.
- 00:02:50–00:03:38 Kazuya: two wings, red Seraphim eyes; a former Devil, once the strongest in the demon realm, usurped by “that upstart Lucif”.
- 00:03:38–00:04:00 With Lucif gone, Kazuya’s return is “imminent”; the new Devil is no Lucif — and no Kazuya either.
- 00:04:00–00:04:53 Kazuya was the longest-reigning Devil until a fallen angel was banished below, rose through the emperors and beat him in a nearly equal fight.
- 00:04:53–00:05:21 Hearing of Lucif’s next vessel, the god killer, he waited for him: beating Vegito would show he can beat Lucif.
- 00:05:41–00:06:13 Vegito: he has felt Lucif’s real power; beating Vegito proves nothing.
- 00:06:13–00:06:40 Vegito invites Kazuya to join “the army within me”.
- 00:07:05–00:07:37 Kazuya: the Devil Gene isn’t something anyone can control — “Just ask my son”.
- 00:08:20–00:09:41 Even exchanges, then a head-butt; Kazuya’s head bleeds first.
- 00:10:05–00:11:36 Vegito kicks him back, appears behind him and blasts him across the room.
- 00:12:23–00:13:00 A purple laser through Vegito’s fingers and mouth, from Kazuya’s third eye, blows out the top floor’s wall.
- 00:13:00–00:13:42 Vegito regrows his mouth and hand with Buu abilities: Tien could learn from that third eye.
- 00:13:42–00:14:18 Kazuya’s torn shirt shows a black tattoo; his three eyes glow.
- 00:14:18–00:14:58 Another laser; Vegito barely dodges.
- 00:15:18–00:16:06 Kazuya appears behind Vegito and roundhouse-kicks him out through the wall.
- 00:16:24–00:16:43 Vegito: Kazuya keeps getting stronger — “It’s like I’m fighting Broly again!”
- 00:17:05–00:17:49 Kazuya glides down on his wings.
- 00:17:49–00:18:51 Topless, Kazuya is covered in tribal tattoos: “the next stage of the Devil Gene”.
- 00:18:51–00:19:11 The more the gene takes over, the stronger he gets, matching and passing his foe; it only answers a true challenger.
- 00:19:41 Vegito wants that ability for his arsenal.
- 00:20:29–00:21:11 Vegito: this wasn’t the last of his technique either — black and green Seraphim eyes, gained from absorbing the previous emperor(s); his wounds nearly vanish.
- 00:21:11–00:21:54 Vegito dodges Kazuya’s counter: “The gap has closed already”.
- 00:22:13–00:23:22 Kazuya powers up purple in the sky; the sector begins to crumble.
- 00:23:39–00:25:23 Hand-to-hand war across the sky; Vegito is smashed into a rock face.
- 00:25:42–00:26:26 Vegito rips off his own top; Kazuya: the Mishima fighting style only works for his bloodline.
- 00:26:43–00:27:04 Kazuya: he sees why Lucif chose Vegito — his body can hold the greatest demons, but not one like Kazuya.
- 00:27:04–00:28:20 Elbow meets elbow; the shockwave runs through the demon realm; Vegito is knocked skyward.
- 00:28:37–00:29:12 Vegito: Kazuya wins on strength, but not on energy; he fires the Special Beam Cannon.
- 00:30:09–00:30:34 Kazuya answers with his devil laser from the forehead.
- 00:30:53–00:32:13 Vegito’s beam swallows Kazuya’s.
- 00:32:34–00:33:11 Kazuya, three eyes closed, smiles: “You were the second coming of Lucif… I desired”; the blast engulfs him.
- 00:33:29–00:34:04 Vegito: Kazuya might have won if he hadn’t accepted a contest of energy; even Roshi couldn’t counter the Mishima style; time to collect the body and the Devil Gene.
- 00:34:26–00:35:28 A huge blast from the smoke hits Vegito and slams him into a crater.
- 00:35:48–00:36:56 “Devil Kazuya”, the Devil Gene’s final takeover: purple and blue scales like organic armour, two blood-red eyes.
- 00:37:13–00:37:41 Kazuya: this power will reclaim his throne and take revenge on Lucif.
- 00:38:03–00:38:20 Vegito: revenge, and that power, are his.
- 00:38:20–00:39:47 Vegito brings out his God Slayer Blade and swings at Kazuya’s head; the blade shatters like glass.
- 00:39:47–00:40:14 Vegito: “I can’t beat him”; narration: outclassed for the first time since perhaps Yamoshi, with no way back to the mortal realm in sight.

Uncertainties
- The cold-open taunt at 00:01:03 is story and was kept.
- Kazuya’s account of losing to Lucif is his own claim; Vegito doesn’t believe he ever “beat” Lucif (00:05:41). The fallen angel he describes is Lucif: Kazuya names “that upstart Lucif” as the one who usurped his throne (00:03:38) and calls him “the ex-angel scum” (00:04:53).
- “But now he’s gone” (00:03:49) presumably means Lucif has left the demon realm for Zeno’s throne (inferred).
- The God Slayer Blade that shatters (00:38:20–00:39:47) is Vegito’s own energy blade from his arm (ep 0006 00:28:03); it has been shattered once before, by GT Gogeta’s energy ball (ep 0032 00:24:43–00:24:53).
- The narration says Vegito’s black-and-green Seraphim came from absorbing “the previous Emperor’s” (00:20:29–00:20:50); which emperor(s) isn’t specified.
