Summary

Standing on the blade in Makoto’s body, the fifth scolds Makoto for shaming the five — “a demon all along, hiding among us” — and decides to bring him back alive for Dai’s reward (ep 0079 00:02:30–00:02:49). Out of a cloud of smoke he shows his real look: a teenage boy, white from hair to skin to eyes — “My name is Light, the fifth of the five strongest” (ep 0079 00:03:10–00:04:18). Goku, who wants Makoto alive so his energy can go to Vegito, can’t sense Light at all and can’t follow his movements; Light says he has lived “for thousands of years” (ep 0079 00:04:42–00:07:13). Calling the horned Frieza “the other” demon, Light throws his blade and then drops on him from above; Goku catches the sword barehanded and, with cyan hair, shoves it aside — which startles Light (“no one told me one of these mortals would be a Seraphim”), until one punch shows Goku’s eye is “incomplete” (ep 0079 00:08:01–00:14:22). Goku senses something of the Grand Priest in Light — “He almost reminds me of a Saiyan” (ep 0079 00:15:00–00:15:49). Frieza, refusing to be saved again, powers up with blood-red eyes like Vegito’s to use Lucif’s power; Light stops his punch with a palm, cuts off his tail, mocks his dream of the demon realm, shrugs off a thousand death beams inside a divine barrier, and burns him with “divine smiting energy” (ep 0079 00:16:10–00:35:52). As Light prepares to kill Frieza, a gloved fist draws his first blood: Yamoshi, scarred and with his hair tied up after twenty years of training alone — “you haven’t changed one bit light” (ep 0079 00:36:02–00:38:33).

Key events

  • 00:01:00 The figure stands on the giant divine blade piercing Makoto’s torso.
  • 00:01:32 Goku: “His movements just now were unreal. Vegito, don’t take too long in there.”
  • 00:02:00 Frieza: “What an over the top entrance for killing an already beaten worm.”
  • 00:02:30–00:02:49 The fifth: Makoto has “besmirched and embarrassed the name of the five strongest… a demon all along, hiding among us all this time… I’d smite you now down to the demon realm, but I think Dai will probably reward me something great for bringing you back alive.”
  • 00:03:10–00:04:11 Smoke rises from his dark skin; he is revealed as “a young teenage child, his entire appearance completely white, from his clothes, to his hair, to his skin, and even his eyes”.
  • 00:04:18 “Nice to meet you guys. My name is Light, the fifth of the five strongest.”
  • 00:04:42 Goku: “I can’t even sense any kind of presence from him!”
  • 00:05:00–00:05:11 Goku: “I can’t let him die before Vegito comes out. Every little bit of energy will help.”
  • 00:05:32–00:06:20 Goku reaches for the blade; Light is already holding it: “You do realise this is my sword, right?”
  • 00:07:02–00:07:09 Light: “I’ve lived for thousands of years. Even longer than this pathetic demon below my blade.”
  • 00:07:30–00:07:43 He pulls the sword out; Makoto screams: “Surprised you’re even alive Makoto.”
  • 00:08:01–00:08:14 “with one demon down, it’s only right I take the other one too. That horned one over there, looks just like one of the demon emperors. What was his name again? Aisa?”
  • 00:08:20–00:09:09 He throws the blade at Frieza, who jumps clear; the blade fades from sight.
  • 00:09:32 Frieza: “Perhaps they truly do see the great demon Lucif within me.”
  • 00:09:50–00:10:21 Light drops from the sky with his sword at Frieza “in an extremely familiar scene”; Frieza freezes.
  • 00:10:40–00:11:10 Goku catches the blade with both hands: “Frieza! Get away from here!”
  • 00:11:40–00:12:00 Light: “That eye! Where the hell did you get that?!” Goku: “I… Got it… Myself!”
  • 00:12:21–00:12:41 Goku’s hair turns cyan; he throws the blade to the ground.
  • 00:13:13–00:13:23 Light: “no one told me one of these mortals would be a Seraphim. This seems incomplete as it is now though.”
  • 00:13:32–00:14:22 Light dematerialises and punches Goku’s face: “it’s incomplete alright. You can’t even see my movements with that eye.”
  • 00:14:54–00:15:11 Goku: “There’s something familiar about this guy… He reminds me of… The priest!” — he recalls meeting the Daishinkan.
  • 00:15:40–00:15:51 “He almost reminds me of a Saiyan. Vegito really is going to enjoy battling him.”
  • 00:16:10–00:16:30 Frieza: “Fifth [?] or not, nobody is stronger than the Emperor of the Universe! The Heir of Lucif!… This is not Namek!”
  • 00:17:39–00:18:00 Goku, who hasn’t seen Frieza “for the better part of a decade”: “Didn’t he go with Black? If Frieza’s jumped this far, I wonder how strong he got. Where even is he?”
  • 00:18:28–00:18:31 Light: “A half-baked Seraphim. And I guess this is supposed to be a half-baked demon.”
  • 00:19:01–00:19:20 Frieza’s eyes open blood-red “Just like a certain true demon”: “I will begin using Lucif’s [?] power itself”.
  • 00:19:31–00:19:42 Goku: “Those red eyes are the same as Vegito’s! He said if he used those too much, he’d get closer and closer to Lucif taking over!”
  • 00:20:41–00:20:50 Light stops Frieza’s punch with one palm.
  • 00:21:32–00:22:46 Light appears behind Frieza with his sword; Frieza’s tail drops, cut off.
  • 00:23:44–00:24:10 Light: “didn’t you say earlier to my colleague makoto that your tail was weighing you down i just did you a favor”.
  • 00:24:42 Goku: “he’s not on our level he’s way too strong”.
  • 00:25:47–00:26:36 Light: “you’ll fit just right in in the demon realm… you’ll be far too weak to ever become an emperor down there… those who cannot arise to the level of a demon emperor are destined to live the ultimate hell beatings and death non stop for eternity that’s why so many dream of escaping”.
  • 00:27:01 Frieza: “i’ve lived in worse hells for decades”.
  • 00:28:44–00:29:31 Goku: his Seraphim eye can follow “even Vegito”, but not Light: “he’s not even vanishing with just super speed… i can’t even sense any kind of energy from him godly or not”.
  • 00:29:41–00:30:22 Light, sitting on a rock: “if you’re the god killer you’re a joke”; Frieza: “do not ever talk to lucif like that” — “begin to think of himself as lucif”.
  • 00:30:22–00:31:27 A thousand black death beams leave a crater.
  • 00:31:39–00:32:27 Light stands unhurt in “a divine white barrier of energy”: “i could have dodged all of those at any time”.
  • 00:33:22–00:33:31 Frieza’s wrist snaps against the barrier.
  • 00:34:03–00:34:37 Light glows into a ball of light — “a moderate explosion”.
  • 00:34:46–00:35:04 Frieza is “left a broken man”, on one knee.
  • 00:35:24–00:35:52 Light: “the smiting of demons is a god’s job not a mortal’s i imbued that little attack with a little bit of divine smiting energy”.
  • 00:36:27–00:36:37 Light: “i’m going to attack you for real now… if you lose you die”.
  • 00:36:56–00:37:16 A gloved fist hits Light’s face — “the first sign of blood to leave the fifth since his arrival”.
  • 00:37:20 Light: “you can never leave me alone can you”.
  • 00:37:47–00:38:22 Yamoshi: “you haven’t changed one bit light” — “having trained himself for the last 20 years and seemingly all by himself”, battle-scarred, his hair “now different and tied up”.

Threads

Uncertainties

  • From about 00:21:32 the transcript runs on in lowercase; “light” there is both the name and the word, and was left as is.
  • “Aisa?” (00:08:14) — Light trying to recall a demon emperor’s name.
  • Goku senses something of the Grand Priest in Light and says he “almost reminds me of a Saiyan” (00:15:11–00:15:49) — his impressions only.
  • Light “can’t tell if either of these guys are the god killer” (00:13:13): he doesn’t know Vegito by sight.
