Summary

Yamoshi, out of the pyramid at the last moment, reminds the bleeding Light that it’s the punch he always landed “Back when you were my student”; Light retorts that since he “rose to the top” Yamoshi has never touched him (ep 0080 00:01:00–00:03:00). Yamoshi shows Goku his new eyes — yellow, with a cross through the pupil, “the eyes gained when a true Super Saiyan God goes even further beyond. Returning to his primal roots” — and says Dai once offered to teach him the Seraphim arts, which he refused (ep 0080 00:03:51–00:05:07). Agreeing to keep Light alive, the two power up — Goku with both Seraphim eyes and one wing — but Light takes control of Goku’s body and makes him strike Yamoshi: as “The embodiment of all pure energy in the multiverse”, Light can command angel energy as long as a Seraphim form is incomplete (ep 0080 00:06:31–00:13:20). The Saiyans survive his blasts, land blows with old tricks Yamoshi taught him, and Light complains that Goku is already “polluting” the angel energy with his own (ep 0080 00:13:32–00:20:00). Both then reach new forms — Yamoshi’s hair shortens and a second scar appears; Goku grows a second wing, “finally completing his seraphim form” — and Goku begins to dodge Light and beat him into the ground (ep 0080 00:22:59–00:32:55). Furious, Light lets a pitch-black darkness stain his left eye and half his hair — “he’s letting too much of that darkness come out” — strikes Goku far away and fires a dense black ball: “finally you die here fake angel” (ep 0080 00:33:11–00:35:51). Goku survives: Vegeta and Broly, in base form, have come out of the pyramid and blocked it — “we’ll take it from here now clown” (ep 0080 00:36:45–00:37:30).

  • The narration calls Light “the first of the five” (00:01:11); he is the fifth.
  • 00:20:11–00:22:37 runs one word per line and is partly garbled (Yamoshi’s speech); only clear lines are used here.
  • Light says Dai “Step[ped] down to let me take his place” (00:12:36–00:12:38); Z said Zeno removed him (ep 0061). See retcons.
  • Light’s “darkness” (00:33:33) is explained two episodes later: Dark, a second personality born of his loneliness (ep 0082 00:03:32–00:05:02, 00:07:42–00:08:13); its tie to the demons is never spelled out, though Gogeta likens its “negative energy” to Janemba’s (ep 0083 00:31:11–00:31:47).
