Summary

The time-ring Trunks, who went through Vegito’s whole journey alone in his own timeline, tests Goku: he has fought Yamoshi, Guts and Zeno’s royal guards, and now wants to know if the stories about Goku are true (ep 0124 00:01:05–00:02:13). He reads Goku’s intent and blocks a barrage of punches with one finger, so Goku calls back the energy of 500 of his 1,000 clones spread across the universe and lands a punch Trunks’s Seraphim eyes cannot follow (ep 0124 00:04:34–00:13:32). Goku reads Trunks’s god-slayer blade as Vegito’s own technique and knocks him down, but Trunks rises with a devilish grin, vanishes through a time portal, pins Goku with Buu goo from the ground and cuts him in half, declaring “the legends were false” and this timeline “as doomed as mine” (ep 0124 00:15:38–00:25:00). Behind him, with red Seraphim eyes, Goku glimpses a demon much like the one inside Vegito (ep 0124 00:25:42–00:26:18). Since both their bodies are made of Buu, Goku pulls back together; Trunks explains the thing Goku saw is a part of Lucif left behind inside him, and that he came partly to learn whether the same lives in Vegito (ep 0124 00:27:50–00:30:46). In sector 6, Vegito throws the Ginyu-like captain’s severed head to Emperor Zuko, who greets him with “Welcome back, Lucif” and will not explain (ep 0124 00:31:05–00:34:42). Before Zuko can say more, Vegito vanishes and blasts him out of existence — to Yamoshi it looks like he was silencing him — and turns to the next sector with blood-red Seraphim eyes (ep 0124 00:35:42–00:38:50).

Key events

  • 00:01:05–00:01:24 Narration: this Trunks, from a new timeline, “underwent the exact same journey as Ultra Vegito, but just completely alone”.
  • 00:01:43–00:01:56 Trunks: “I’ve spent decades fighting warriors of incredible power. Yamoshi, Guts, even Zeno’s royal guards.”
  • 00:05:14–00:05:21 Trunks: “I read your feelings as you attacked… If you’re going to fight me, you better fight me to kill”.
  • 00:06:09–00:08:44 Trunks raises one finger, “in somewhat extremely nostalgic fashion”, and blocks Goku’s whole barrage with it; the last punch only bends it slightly.
  • 00:09:18–00:09:23 Goku: “one clone’s worth of energy won’t be enough. I’ll need more”.
  • 00:10:18–00:11:01 Goku: “I should probably deactivate half of the 1000 multiforms I made… the 500 should all be on planets they’ve just saved anyway”; the clones sit down as their life force returns to the original.
  • 00:11:54–00:12:05 Goku’s body, “save for his green eyes”, turns to pure energy for a moment.
  • 00:13:17–00:13:32 Goku reappears under Trunks’s nose and punches his jaw.
  • 00:14:24 Trunks: “the Goku my father told me about has finally come out to play.”
  • 00:15:38–00:15:48 Goku, on the blade: “You really are the god killer of your timeline. But that just means I know how to counter all your moves.”
  • 00:18:27–00:18:55 A double-fisted blow drops Trunks.
  • 00:19:32–00:19:52 Trunks: “This battle hasn’t even begun, clown!” — “taking the lingo of his father… channeling his reputation as the god-killer just like, Vegito.”
  • 00:20:11–00:21:46 Trunks leaves through a time portal; pink Buu matter rises from the soil and pins Goku.
  • 00:21:59 Goku: “you really are a clone of Vegito!”
  • 00:23:33–00:23:40 Trunks: “the legends were false. It seems the time-ring led me astray, because this timeline is as doomed as mine!”
  • 00:24:33–00:25:00 His blade cuts through Goku.
  • 00:25:42–00:26:18 Trunks with “red Seraphim eyes” and a demon behind him “almost exactly the same monster observed within Vegito” in the last episode.
  • 00:27:41–00:28:01 Trunks: “I hate when people hold back!… Your body is made of Buu just like mine. It’s already reattaching”.
  • 00:28:53 Goku: “I was only using half my energy there.”
  • 00:29:43 Goku: “You told me you let out Lucif to beat Dai. Just like we did.”
  • 00:30:08–00:30:46 Trunks: “A part of Lucif that was left behind within me… It’s something I learned only recently… a part of the reason I’ve come here. Is to figure out if the same exists within Vegito.”
  • 00:31:05–00:31:23 Vegito carries the Ginyu-like captain’s severed head, taken “the minute the demon had given Vegito the information he needed”.
  • 00:31:30–00:32:00 “A little housewarming gift!” — the emperor crushes the head underfoot.
  • 00:32:27–00:32:58 Vegito meets “the famed Emperor Zuko”, short and wide, and promises to turn the heat down “once it’s mine”.
  • 00:33:13 Zuko to the dead captain: “You did well, Gono.”
  • 00:33:38 Zuko: “Welcome to Sector 6. Or should I say… Welcome back, Lucif.”
  • 00:34:31 Zuko: “it’s not my place to reveal something you should have figured out yourself.”
  • 00:35:07–00:35:19 Yamoshi: “He’s saying Vegito is Lucif.”
  • 00:35:56 Vegito: “Lucif… I got rid of that clown a while ago.”
  • 00:36:13–00:37:11 Vegito vanishes, his energy undetectable, reappears before Zuko — “It’s all mine!” — and erases him with one blast.
  • 00:37:18–00:37:55 Yamoshi: “You fool!… Now neither of us can absorb him!… It’s almost like… He was trying to silence him!”
  • 00:38:03–00:38:21 Vegito, “his blood-red Seraphim eyes Still on show”: “The next sector awaits…”
  • 00:38:43–00:38:50 Narration: “The end of Vegito and Lucif’s connection… May not be quite just over”.

Uncertainties

  • Trunks’s cold reply at 00:26:27 is missing from the transcript.
  • “Gono” (00:33:13) is heard once; it is the captain’s name (inferred from context).
  • Goku’s “you really are a clone of Vegito” (00:21:59) reads as a figure of speech for how alike they are (inferred).
  • Trunks says his body is made of Buu “just like mine” (00:27:50); how he came by it isn’t told.
  • Why Vegito killed Zuko so fast — to silence him, as Yamoshi suspects (00:37:55), or not — is left open.
  • The “red Seraphim” of Trunks (00:25:42) and Vegito’s “blood-red Seraphim eyes” (00:38:03) echo Yamoshi’s red eyes; a link is suggested, not stated.
