Summary

Facing the four Saiyans, Dark speaks: he has “laid dormant within light for centuries”, and promises death and destruction “Until that priest comes to deal with me again” — whose “puny little blue face” he means to rip off; Light’s own voice, from his left side, reins him in: he has drawn on only a little of Dark’s power, and if Dai has to come again “he won’t be as lenient as last time” (ep 0082 00:02:55–00:05:31). Yamoshi explains that Light is no fusion: Dark is an alter ego born of the loneliness of a boy with “no family, no friends, no home”, a locked-away strength that, set fully loose, “would be a threat, almost as bad as Lucif” (ep 0082 00:07:04–00:08:50). Undaunted, the four attack. Dark nearly kills Vegeta with a ball of “pure divine dark energy”; Yamoshi and Broly shield him, and Goku — without moving — pulls all three out by Instant Transmission through his energy (ep 0082 00:11:41–00:19:51). Named “the key to winning this battle”, Goku turns Light’s trick around and takes control of Light’s body for a moment; but Dark is beyond his reach (ep 0082 00:20:22–00:29:40). Vegeta kicks Goku clear and takes a huge blast himself; Goku, believing him dead, rises to a new level and with Yamoshi and Broly drives Light down, and Vegeta — alive — joins him in a combined beam that engulfs Light (ep 0082 00:32:08–00:37:51). Enraged that none of them has fallen, Light lets Dark take over further — half his body greys, black thunder falls — and Goku cries for help (ep 0082 00:38:10–00:40:21). The pyramid door opens: Goku Black stumbles out, bruised and pupil-less, and collapses; behind him comes not Vegito but Ultra Gogeta — “So this is Vegito’s timeline!” — with two demon horns, a Seraphim eye and a demon eye (ep 0082 00:40:32–00:42:50).

  • This Gogeta is the GT timeline’s, who promised Vegito a rematch (ep 0034) — “So this is Vegito’s timeline!” (00:42:17); the next episode says so and explains that Vegito called him into the pyramid with the summoning button Gogeta had given him (ep 0083 00:01:00–00:01:26, 00:06:30).
  • Why Goku Black is unconscious, and where Frieza’s training partner has been, isn’t explained.
  • Broly’s “I am Vegeta!” (00:15:37) is read as “I am! Vegeta!… protect Cheelai” (likely).
  • “That’s Foralia!” (00:28:15) is garbled (“That’s for Broly!”?).
  • Whose line “So the God-Killer finally returned.” is (00:40:52) isn’t clear.
