Overview

God of Destruction of Universe 11 (ep 0022 00:01:21), a former Pride Trooper (ep 0022 00:13:33–00:13:42) and Beerus’s best friend (ep 0003 00:08:51). He took Vegito holding Beerus’s arm as proof of murder (ep 0003 00:09:21–00:10:18) and led the eleven gods who erased Earth (ep 0006 00:09:39, 00:16:12). Relaxing in his palace, he credited Marcarita with Jiren’s training, called Vegito “that demon” (ep 0022 00:01:45–00:02:14) and briefed Toppo on the god-killer (ep 0022 00:21:25). Called “the former God of Destruction” once Jiren took the title (ep 0026 00:01:45), he was crushed under Jiren’s giant fist when Vegito swapped places with him, then erased by Jiren, who had found through a time ring that Belmod slaughtered his village when he was a child (ep 0026 00:13:01–00:13:31, 00:27:27–00:29:46; ep 0028 00:07:38–00:08:03); Marcarita, dying, blamed it all on Belmod (ep 0028 00:17:33). He stays dead; only apparitions of him fight on as part of Vegito’s power.

Affiliations & relationships

• Beerus: best friend (ep 0003 00:08:51).
• Jiren: beat Belmod in a bout (ep 0004 00:14:48); “surpassed the God of Destruction” (ep 0008 00:16:30); Belmod calls on him (ep 0008 00:20:14–00:20:46). His protector, groomed as the next God of Destruction (ep 0022 00:13:42–00:13:51, 00:18:10). Belmod “found” him not long after Jiren’s village was slaughtered — by Belmod himself, per Jiren (ep 0026 00:27:50–00:27:56, 00:29:36); Jiren erased him (ep 0026 00:29:07).
• Marcarita: his angel (ep 0008 00:15:44).
• Whis: curses him as as much trouble as Beerus (ep 0008 00:19:37).
• Toppo: God of Destruction candidate; briefed by him (ep 0022 00:17:15, 00:21:25).

Abilities / traits

Open questions

• Why did he slaughter Jiren’s village, and was “Not all is as it may-” (ep 0026 00:28:18) the start of a real excuse? Another timeline’s Belmod gives the reason as the destroyers’ “ritual of the divine” — killing a candidate’s family and friends — which he says every destroyer follows (ep 0029 00:20:19–00:25:00); that this Belmod acted under the same ritual is (inferred). See jiren-clan.
