Episode 0202 Title How Vegeta Finally Surpassed Goku Released 2025-09-12 Length 42:11 Setting the Elder Gods’ realm (framing); flashback to god-killer Vegeta’s own past — Capsule Corp on Earth, a Capsule Corp ship, planet Vampa. See timelines Watch YouTube ↗
Summary
Hera’s god-killer Vegeta naps in a hammock in the Elder Gods’ realm, two hours before the tournament: Hera is “my creator apparently”, he will fight beside a Kakarot again, and no other Vegeta could have been through what he has (ep 0202 00:00:23–00:02:37). His story begins after Namek, with a nightmare in which a cruel Super Saiyan Goku beats him and stamps down on his head (ep 0202 00:02:44–00:12:23). Living at Capsule Corp, sure Goku isn’t dead, he is mocked by Yamcha, who is with Bulma; Vegeta knocks Yamcha out with one punch — “as if… permanently disabled for life” — and kicks Krillin unconscious (ep 0202 00:13:46–00:20:58). Telling the weeping Bulma he is done with Earth, he takes the Capsule Corp ship with its gravity machine and launches with no coordinates, laughing that he is free of “those weaklings” (ep 0202 00:21:18–00:24:38). Half a year of training at up to 3,000 times Earth’s gravity later, the ship crash-lands on a yellow planet (ep 0202 00:24:47–00:27:22). It is Vampa, and a Saiyan rushes him: Broly, here around the time of the Namek saga (ep 0202 00:29:01–00:32:36). They trade blows evenly until Broly’s eyes shine yellow in an “Ikari form”; he slams Vegeta down and blasts him into a chasm with a green mouth beam (ep 0202 00:33:04–00:37:57). Beaten, Vegeta asks why low-class Saiyans always surpass him; a shining Goku appears to him and offers a hand, and Vegeta rises out of the chasm as a Super Saiyan at last, naming himself “King Vegeta” (ep 0202 00:38:00–00:41:24).

Uncertainties
- Whether Yamcha died isn’t said (00:18:44–00:18:57).
- That the vision of Goku is only in Vegeta’s mind is inferred (“Simply unable to leave Vegeta’s mind”, 00:39:14–00:39:16).
- Broly’s “Ikari form” (00:35:16) shares the name of Yamoshi’s and Cumber’s Ikari God form; how they relate isn’t said.
- “And my name Broly. Highness. King Vegeta.” (00:41:17–00:41:24) is garbled; he seems to take the title King Vegeta.
- In ep 0190 00:20:56 this Vegeta tells god-killer Goku that Goku has been dead a long time in his timeline; here he refuses to believe Goku died on Namek (00:12:59–00:13:01).
