Overview

The two bodyguards standing with Zeno and the Grand Priest (ep 0003 00:14:25). One of them appeared in front of Ultra Vegito and punched him in the gut before he could react, ordering him to move only when told (ep 0003 00:15:35–00:15:50).

As of the latest episode (ep 0261): gone. The original guards, Z and S — higher-class angels taught by Dai — fought Vegito and Seraphim Goku, fused into G.T., were beaten by Goku and absorbed by Vegito (ep 0097 00:41:52–00:42:16; ep 0098 00:41:48–00:42:19); G.T.’s apparition was erased by Dai (ep 0100 00:38:58–00:42:04). Their replacements, two horned demon guards Dai made under Lucif’s control, killed Zeno and went over to Lucif (ep 0102 00:18:53–00:26:51, 00:42:28–00:42:36); one of them later killed King Vegeta and Tien (ep 0137). They are very likely Lucif’s royal guards Dante and Virgil (inferred: the same title and the armour stained with Zeno’s blood, ep 0137 00:15:51–00:16:04; ep 0144 00:01:23), both dead by ep 0167.

Affiliations & relationships

Abilities / traits

  • Extreme speed: Vegito says it hit him before he could move (ep 0003 00:16:13–00:16:17) — though he had just been Hakai’d by 11 gods, which slowed him (ep 0003 00:15:59).
  • Z (ep 0061): a red energy barrier that Vegito’s destruction wave can’t dent, and which he walks through (ep 0061 00:06:11–00:08:34); a weighted jacket over a mummy-like bodysuit; Whis’s and Merus’s stance (ep 0061 00:12:08–00:12:24); speed that makes Vegito look slow; an uppercut out of orbit, an axe kick, a knee that ruptures Vegito’s organs (ep 0061 00:15:25–00:35:24); untouched by Ultra Ego’s hit (ep 0061 00:24:30). Beyond the fourth of the five; with his brother he expects to beat the fifth (ep 0061 00:35:55–00:37:15).
  • Z’s Seraphim form (ep 0062) — “I channel the power of Akobet… First of the two strongest… In angel history”: a single white wing, angel’s eyes, a thick angelic aura; his punch blows off Vegito’s arm; four feathers that bind and explode (ep 0062 00:33:19–00:39:38). The guards are “a higher class of angel… Just like the grand priest” (ep 0062 00:35:29).
  • Z’s eyes can change to resemble Ultra Instinct (ep 0062 00:24:52).
  • Few have made Z bleed: “only been four in history” (ep 0062 00:15:23); Vegito does it twice (ep 0062 00:14:04, 00:31:13).
  • Clones (ep 0063) — Z splits into five; each clone beats several Vegitos, but his power is divided until he takes them back (ep 0063 00:09:43–00:12:46, 00:22:29–00:22:48).
  • Heavenly blades — miles-long white energy blades from a ball of divine energy (ep 0063 00:16:00–00:16:29).
  • Seraphim final form — “acrobel and castiel reunite” (as heard): a second wing, white lightning like the Grand Priest’s, a symbol in a turquoise eye; “proof I have mastered your teaching” (ep 0063 00:24:15–00:25:13).
  • Holy smite — a light that erases demonic flesh “as if being erased by a hakai”; it wipes out every Vegito copy at once (ep 0063 00:27:27–00:29:40). A flash from his eye erases time rings (ep 0063 00:32:28).
  • ep 0086: they talk telepathically (00:15:07); on throwing off their jackets they become much faster and hit hard enough to hurt Seraphim Goku through a block (00:24:01–00:25:38); Z opens a Seraphim eye in his left eye only (00:29:26–00:29:37); S frowns on using the Seraphim against a mortal (00:30:34–00:30:38).

Fusion form: G.T. (as heard) (ep 0090–)

  • “Divine… Combination!” — fist to palm, the brothers merge in a sphere of light into a taller “royal commander”: two Seraphim eyes, the Priest’s cyan upside-down triangle on his forehead, two wings: “The royal guards are no more… My name is G.T.” (ep 0090 00:04:14–00:07:23). The “second level of seraphim”, the Priest’s own (Dai, ep 0090 00:08:39–00:08:41). Outclasses Goku, outrunning even Instant Transmission (ep 0090 00:20:17–00:26:07).
  • ep 0097: beaten by Seraphim Goku; ep 0098: absorbed by Vegito, whose new form bears two black scars like the guards’ (ep 0098 00:42:52–00:43:01).

Variants

  • None. Z and S have no other-timeline versions in the story. G.T. is their fusion form (see Abilities → Fusion form: G.T.). Lucif’s demon guards are other individuals made to replace them (see the section below), very likely Dante and Virgil (inferred, see Overview).

Lucif’s demon guards (ep 0102–)

Not Z and S, and not versions of them: two different individuals Dai made to replace them. Kept here because the story treats them as the guards’ successors.

  • Dai’s attempt to recreate Z and S yields two silent, horned giants in red-and-black armour with skulls on their belts matching the new throne (ep 0102 00:18:53–00:21:27); they crush Zeno’s head (ep 0102 00:22:05–00:26:51). They were designed by Lucif and now serve him (ep 0102 00:42:28–00:42:36).
  • ep 0137: one of them fires pure black energy, moves faster than King Vegeta can see, shrugs off Super Saiyan 4 God punches, and arrives amid black lightning through a black portal (ep 0137 00:13:27–00:24:53). A name was reportedly revealed but isn’t heard (00:32:07); Lucif’s royal guard Dante is named in ep 0144 00:01:23. See Dante, Virgil.

  • ep 0061: Z shields Mule and the angels, names himself, and beats Vegito through his final ultra, Ultra Ego and demonic forms; says Zeno has enjoyed Vegito’s ten years and the five are chosen “by default”; faces the newborn true demon Vegito.
  • ep 0062: Z is hit and bled by true demon Vegito, destroys copied apparitions of Mule and the angels, takes his Seraphim form and maims Vegito — then is surrounded by countless Vegitos from time portals.
  • ep 0063: Z splits into five, then, with the Grand Priest’s secret permission, takes his Seraphim final form, erases every Vegito copy and Vegito’s time rings — and is called back by Zeno a moment before the final blow; “you got lucky today”.
  • ep 0085 00:35:25–00:35:57, 00:40:21–00:41:12: Vegito: Z “was still holding back” last time; the guards bristle at his threat to Zeno; the Priest tells them to stand their ground.

  • ep 0087: S opens his Seraphim eye, on the opposite side from Z’s (00:36:10–00:36:17); both were “tutored by Dai himself” (00:37:36–00:37:38); they say they are only giving Zeno a show and showing full power would end it (00:38:49–00:39:09); everyone who defied them “end[ed] up… The Demon Realm” (00:40:10–00:40:19). They helped defeat Lucif long ago (Lucif, 00:06:19).
  • ep 0088: “phase two of Zeno’s show”: both take the one-winged Seraphim form (00:11:01–00:12:07); S fights in it for the first time; Goku blocks him with a wing of his own (00:13:42–00:14:03); they combine into the “double holy smite” — “Acrobel and Castiel… Unite” — which draws with Goku’s Dragon Smite (00:22:27–00:27:17).
  • ep 0089: struck down together by Goku’s Dragon Smite through a portal; they survive, charred (00:14:36–00:16:05, 00:22:25–00:22:36); an unseen figure with red eyes kicks Z into S (00:23:32–00:24:33). Z remembers smiting Vegito’s time rings on Dai’s orders (00:40:08–00:40:34).
  • ep 0094 00:37:23–00:37:52: G.T. strikes Seraphim Goku down from behind.
  • ep 0095: G.T. calls the Saiyans “barbaric… swines” after the destroyer’s death; Vegeta’s Blood Bullets go through his right shoulder (00:29:23–00:32:58).
  • ep 0096 00:44:50–00:46:29: pummels Goku until Goku ascends.
  • ep 0097: G.T. is slapped, bound and flicked by Goku, breaks free, fires homing beams, is blinded by Solar Wings and finished with the Ultra Dragon Fist and Meteor Explosion: “Son Goku, I see now what Lord Zeno sees in you” (00:12:06–00:42:16).
  • ep 0098: G.T.’s last words to Vegito: Goku “is… different… and he will… save us”; absorbed (00:02:57–00:03:23, 00:41:48–00:42:19).
  • ep 0099 00:04:04–00:04:17: Dai vows to avenge Z and S.
  • ep 0100 00:38:58–00:42:04: G.T. appears as Vegito’s apparition, “the second strongest angel in the entire multiverse”, and is erased by Dai’s power-up.
  • ep 0102: the demon guards kill Zeno and leave with Lucif (00:22:05–00:26:51, 00:52:42–00:53:09).
  • ep 0137 00:15:51–00:31:12: one of Lucif’s demon guards, in the black armour once splashed with Zeno’s blood, comes through a black portal for “Two targets”; tanks King Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 4 God form, crushes his throat, then beheads Tien and sends the head to Lucif — “Two more… To add… To the list”. He says Vegeta will be visited soon (00:25:48).

Open questions

  • How strong were they really? They say full power would end Zeno’s show (ep 0087 00:38:49–00:39:09) and never show it. See zenos-guards.
  • Are Lucif’s demon guards Dante and Virgil? Very likely, never stated outright (see above).
