Summary

Lucif’s royal guard — named here as Dante, his “right hand man” — tells the young Trunks he will die quietly so that his corpse can be shown to Vegeta before Vegeta dies too, as part of “Lord Lucif’s grand show” (ep 0144 00:01:03–00:03:19). Trunks goes Super Saiyan and charges him (ep 0144 00:03:32–00:04:03). Meanwhile Bardock offers to train Goten, saying Goten has as much potential as Trunks, “probably more” (ep 0144 00:04:03–00:06:12). Trunks is flung past them, unconscious; Bardock faces Dante, who first takes him for Goku and then for Goku’s father (ep 0144 00:06:18–00:09:30). Bardock removes his bandana to show yellow (Ikari) eyes and fights with natural Ultra Instinct, but is knocked into a crater (ep 0144 00:10:24–00:18:02). He rises in a new form — Super Saiyan gold with a hint of green, Ikari-yellow eyes and lightning, a faint MUI aura: “Supreme Instinct Bardock” (ep 0144 00:20:01–00:22:26). He catches Dante with an elbow, a barrage of beams and a head-butt that cracks the royal guard’s mask — the first time in millennia, Dante says (ep 0144 00:24:16–00:30:47). Their full-power punches meet as equals, Oozaru and demon apparitions behind them (ep 0144 00:31:16–00:34:22). Dante then says he was at “level two” — 2% of his power, not a form — and in one stroke tears off Bardock’s face; Bardock dies standing (ep 0144 00:34:33–00:37:48). Goten, seeing it, snaps: a pillar of energy, an Oozaru-like voice and yellow eyes like his grandfather’s (ep 0144 00:38:12–00:39:29).

Key events

  • 00:01:03–00:02:00 Dante, Lucif’s right-hand man and royal guard, finds Trunks: a quiet death, and the godkiller will follow.
  • 00:02:20–00:03:19 Trunks asks if he means his dad; Dante: Prince Vegeta will die, but only after seeing Trunks’s corpse.
  • 00:03:32–00:04:03 Trunks turns Super Saiyan and attacks.
  • 00:04:17–00:06:12 Goten admits spiking the ball on purpose; Bardock: Trunks’s “strange power” hasn’t come back; he offers to teach Goten if Kakarot doesn’t.
  • 00:06:29–00:07:44 Trunks is flung into a tree, unconscious; Bardock sends Goten to him.
  • 00:08:37–00:10:10 Dante takes Bardock for Son Goku, then learns he is Goku’s father; Lucif “did not mention” him.
  • 00:10:24–00:11:34 Bardock unmasks: yellow eyes; Dante says Lucif wants to kill Goku personally.
  • 00:11:34–00:15:08 Bardock’s beams, kicks and a blast like the one he once fired at Frieza fail; he dodges Dante’s punch.
  • 00:15:39–00:18:12 Dante’s electric fist lays Bardock in a crater despite his natural Ultra Instinct.
  • 00:19:01–00:19:34 Dante calls Goku “a complete mutation from your bloodline”.
  • 00:20:01–00:22:26 Bardock transforms: Supreme Instinct.
  • 00:22:47–00:23:34 Goten is awed; Trunks: the old man was always hiding his power.
  • 00:24:16–00:26:31 An elbow to the temple, then a barrage of beams.
  • 00:27:11–00:28:47 A head-butt in a ball of yellow energy.
  • 00:29:11–00:30:47 Bardock gets up; Dante’s mask is cracked — “not… since Millennia ago”.
  • 00:31:16–00:34:22 Their final punches meet with equal force.
  • 00:34:33–00:35:37 Dante: that was “level two” — 2% of his power.
  • 00:35:49–00:37:48 One stroke takes Bardock’s face; he dies standing.
  • 00:38:12–00:39:29 Goten’s power erupts; his eyes turn yellow like Bardock’s.

Uncertainties

  • The guard’s name is read from “Royal demon god of Luc Dante” (00:01:23) and later plain “Dante”; that he is the guard of ep 0137 is (inferred) from his skull-like face and his errand.
  • “yellow Cari eyes”/“iari yellow” read as Ikari (likely).
  • Bardock is called a Saiyan “from an alternate timeline where he mastered forms and techniques” (00:10:51–00:11:03); the narration ties his look to a Dragon Ball Super source (00:22:17–00:22:26) (real-world aside, kept).
  • Who the “Old King” is (00:12:42) isn’t said; probably King Vegeta, who died in ep 0137 (inferred).
