Episode 0074
Summary
Demon Vegeta has beaten Black Frieza black and blue and goads him on — “We’re going to need you as strong as possible! Won’t we, Vegito?” (ep 0074 00:01:31–00:03:42). They trade blows: Vegeta’s palm blast engulfs Frieza’s head, Frieza’s Death Beam pierces Vegeta’s torso, and they land the same punch at once, until a double-fisted hammer drops Frieza, who admits “This… is as far as this black form can go!” (ep 0074 00:04:28–00:12:24). Vegeta, disgusted, means to kill him — “Kakarot may have been soft enough to let you go, but I will never be!” — and Frieza, refusing to die, transforms: bigger, like his second form, with black-and-purple eyes and two huge horns — Black Demon Frieza (ep 0074 00:13:05–00:18:57). “Seems I was right about my black form being at its limit. But that does not mean the great Frieza was” (ep 0074 00:19:37–00:19:42). He uppercuts Vegeta into the sky and slams him down with his tail, saying he isn’t using “even a percent” of his power; Vegeta, wondering if Frieza has surpassed Vegito, powers up and tears off his vest, glad of “a fellow demon” (ep 0074 00:21:29–00:26:50). His point-blank blast misses; Frieza toys with him, then skewers his shoulder on his horns and drops him back to base (ep 0074 00:28:24–00:35:32). Doubting Vegeta is even worth re-assimilating, Frieza fires a black Death Beam to finish him; Vegeta cries for Vegito — but Goku, back from his training, knocks the beam away with one hit, wearing blue “Seraphim eyes” seen before only on Zeno’s royal guard (ep 0074 00:35:54–00:39:41).
Key events
- 00:01:31–00:01:53 Black Frieza, “black and blue bruised, and near defeated”, faces true demon Vegeta.
- 00:02:13–00:02:43 Vegeta: “How embarrassing, to the late King Cold… Perhaps, you are no frost demon after all.”
- 00:03:42 Vegeta, aside: “We’re going to need you as strong as possible! Won’t we, Vegito?”
- 00:04:28–00:04:36 Vegeta’s palm blast engulfs Frieza’s head.
- 00:04:43–00:05:55 Frieza’s finger beam pierces Vegeta’s torso: “That death beam feels just the way I remember it on Namek”; Frieza: “you managed to make me miss a vital point”.
- 00:06:58–00:07:35 Frieza’s tail around Vegeta’s neck; Vegeta’s backward kick catches his face.
- 00:08:44–00:09:52 Frieza longs for the days of “Monkeys on a leash”; Vegeta: “those times are well and truly over!”
- 00:10:10–00:10:22 Both land the same punch at the same moment — “Does this remind you of the past too?”
- 00:11:10–00:11:38 Vegeta’s double-fisted hammer knocks Frieza out of the air.
- 00:12:12–00:12:24 Frieza: “I can’t beat this monkey! This… is as far as this black form can go!… These two will always have the upper hand on me!”
- 00:13:05–00:13:34 Vegeta: “giving up like a mere Saibaman [?]!… I have at least grown to respect your strength!… if you cannot be of any use to us, then you can no longer deserve to exist here”.
- 00:14:23–00:14:35 Frieza: “please… Spare me…” Vegeta: “Kakarot may have been soft enough to let you go, but I will never be!”
- 00:14:51–00:15:08 “I will not die here, monkey!” — his voice deepens, his eyes turn “a violent purple”.
- 00:15:36–00:17:50 He grows several times Vegeta’s size, “akin to his second form”, eyes black with purple pupils; two horns burst from his skull, “Larger and more menacing than anything that has ever come before”.
- 00:18:31 His eyes are the “menacing demonic purple eyes, we’ve come to so closely associate with Ultra Vegito”.
- 00:18:52 “Black Demon Frieza would then finally be seen.”
- 00:19:33–00:19:42 “I believe this is the power you requested. Seems I was right about my black form being at its limit. But that does not mean the great Frieza was.”
- 00:20:10–00:20:17 Vegeta: “This is the power you had hidden! This is exactly what I warned Kakarot of all those years ago!”
- 00:21:29–00:22:52 With speed that shocks even Demon Vegeta, Frieza looms over him and uppercuts him into the sky — “I will finally allow you to join [your father]! In hell”.
- 00:23:20–00:23:29 Vegeta: “His speed! His power! How could it jump that far? Has he… surpassed Vegito?”
- 00:23:56–00:24:17 A tail slam to Vegeta’s spine drives him into the ground.
- 00:24:33–00:24:39 Frieza: “This is the extent of half of Vegito’s power… I don’t seem to be even using a percent of mine.”
- 00:25:35–00:26:38 Vegeta’s demonic roar; he rips off his vest: “I’ve been dying for an equal challenge here, for years now! And it looks like it’s a fellow demon.”
- 00:27:50–00:27:53 Frieza: “call your daddy Vegito.”
- 00:28:24–00:29:46 “In a callback to his eradication of Pui Pui”, Vegeta blasts point-blank, meant so that “not even Ultra Vegito, could survive”.
- 00:30:22–00:30:31 Frieza appears behind him “without a scratch”.
- 00:30:45–00:32:20 “Peekaboo!” — he claps Vegeta’s face, leaves an after-image, cracks his temple with an elbow.
- 00:33:41–00:34:07 Frieza catches the falling Vegeta’s shoulder on his horns: “The Baldy screamed the same way!”
- 00:34:51 Vegeta is “beaten back down into base”.
- 00:35:25–00:35:32 Vegeta: “Frieza beat me! THIS QUICKLY! JUST HOW MANY FORMS HAS THIS DAMN LIZARD GOT!”
- 00:35:54–00:36:11 Frieza: “I’ve been through hell and back to reach this level… I wonder if you are even worth re-assimilating with Vegito.”
- 00:36:23–00:37:02 He fires “his new signature black death bead”.
- 00:37:24–00:37:36 Vegeta: “Vegito, do something!” — Vegito “has been missing this entire chapter”.
- 00:38:05–00:38:26 Goku returns and knocks the Death Beam away “with a single, hit, without a word”.
- 00:38:39–00:38:41 Vegeta: “Kakarot! You’re finally back!”
- 00:39:05–00:39:11 Goku: “Sorry I took so long, Vegeta. But I guess now, it’s my turn to step in.”
- 00:39:26–00:39:32 Goku bears “the strikingly blue, Seraphim eyes. Only once seen before, on Zeno’s royal guard himself.”

Uncertainties
- a sound effect (“Toe!”, 00:27:26) was dropped.
- At 00:05:11 the transcript has Frieza’s finger hit “a surprised Frieza”; corrected to Vegeta (likely).
- “the shocked looks of Vegeta, Frieza, and Vegeta” (00:38:46–00:38:50): the second may be Vegito, but the narration says he is absent this chapter.
- Frieza’s horns fit the chosen-one writings (“Two huge horns”, ep 0071) — the link is ours (inferred), though he later comes out of the pyramid as “heir of the great demon, Lucif” (ep 0078 00:03:20).
- Whether Goku’s eyes mean a full Seraphim form, like Z’s, isn’t shown here; he grows a wing as Seraphim Goku (ep 0077 00:20:12) and reaches his full Seraphim in ep 0089 00:07:49.
