Summary

Vegito scolds Jiren for taking “my kill”, Belmod, when Toppo arrives in his full Hakaishin form — four years stronger from the Pyramid of Power — to punish Jiren for murdering their former god (ep 0028 00:01:15–00:02:51). Jiren doesn’t move; his giant aura apparition flattens Toppo with one fist, and Vegito wonders whether Jiren held back against him (ep 0028 00:03:19–00:05:30). Jiren explains that he went over three decades back to his childhood village, “Dora” (as heard), and saw Belmod — the man who later found him orphaned and gave him the Pride Troopers — slaughter his master, friends and family (ep 0028 00:06:47–00:08:03). Vegito answers that the whole system of gods, Supreme Kais included, must end, and when Jiren asks whether there should be exceptions, he gives his reasons: ten years of suffering for a fight he never wanted, and gods who erase planets on a whim (ep 0028 00:08:12–00:11:03). Jiren returns the time ring and asks whether Vegito would really have destroyed him; Vegito vanishes, puts two fingers to the back of his head and says “Of course I would have” — then makes him summon Marcarita (ep 0028 00:11:44–00:14:42). Vegito mocks the summoned angel, catches her with his Cell tail as she flees, stabs out her left eye, drains her and erases her while she pleads that it was all Belmod (ep 0028 00:14:51–00:19:12). Instead of turning on Jiren, he drains the destruction energy from the half-conscious Toppo, leaving him alive (ep 0028 00:20:16–00:22:49). He then tells Jiren he is a god killer too, that Zeno and the Grand Priest will come for both of them, and that he’ll need him in the final battle; he takes Jiren’s god-summoning button and sends him into the Pyramid of Power to train (ep 0028 00:22:56–00:26:57). Once the doors close, Vegito blasts them to rubble — the only way out — saying this universe’s God of Destruction will be “no exception”; inside, Jiren realises he is trapped, seemingly forever (ep 0028 00:27:07–00:29:27).

Key events

  • 00:02:32–00:02:51 Toppo: Son Goku poisoned Jiren’s mind; Jiren will die by his hand for murdering “our former god and pride trooper Belmod”.
  • 00:04:12–00:04:57 Jiren’s giant apparition returns and flattens Toppo.
  • 00:05:20–00:05:30 Vegito: was Jiren holding back against him?
  • 00:05:48–00:06:00 Jiren: Belmod could only die by his hand, “for the sake of my people too”.
  • 00:06:58 Jiren: he “wasn’t shown any of” Vegito’s story when the angel entered his mind.
  • 00:07:17–00:08:03 Jiren went “over three decades back” to his village, “Dora”; Belmod killed his master, friends and family, then found him orphaned and gave him the Pride Troopers.
  • 00:08:34–00:09:08 Vegito: the reign of gods must end, “from the Supreme Kais to the gods of destruction”; the rings are gatekept by the gods.
  • 00:09:34–00:09:56 Jiren: are there no exceptions?
  • 00:10:04–00:11:03 Vegito’s answer: ten years of suffering; Beerus’s first visit to Earth; destroyers erase planets “like particles of dust”.
  • 00:11:44 Jiren throws back the time ring; Vegito puts it back on his hand (00:12:27).
  • 00:12:03–00:12:10 Jiren: would Vegito really have destroyed him?

  • 00:14:00–00:14:42 Vegito demands Marcarita; Jiren decides she deserves it too and snaps his fingers.
  • 00:14:51 Vegito: “well hello female Whis”.
  • 00:15:55 “who would have never seen Whis asking Beerus?”
  • 00:16:28–00:16:40 Marcarita flees.
  • 00:16:49–00:17:11 The Cell tail shoots out of the android arm and coils round her neck.
  • 00:17:33–00:17:41 Marcarita: “I don’t deserve this! It was all Belmod!”
  • 00:18:02–00:18:30 The needle bursts her left eye; her life force and organic matter are absorbed, leaving a wrinkled shell.
  • 00:18:45–00:19:12 Vegito’s shout (heard “TIE!”, probably “HAKAI” [?]); Marcarita turns to dust and is erased.
  • 00:19:36–00:20:00 Jiren: “Am I your next victim, Son Goku?”
  • 00:21:04–00:21:13 Vegito: Jiren isn’t the only one left with destruction energy.
  • 00:22:02–00:22:10 Vegito: Toppo couldn’t make it to destroyer — “Weren’t you a candidate in line before Jiren?”
  • 00:22:20–00:22:40 Palm on Toppo’s face: his energy drained; he survives, near lifeless.
  • 00:23:07–00:23:14 Vegito: Jiren stays god of this universe, but “can’t stay here anymore”.
  • 00:23:53–00:24:31 “you too are a god killer now”; Zeno and the Grand Priest will come for them both; Jiren’s potential “could even surpass mine”.
  • 00:24:31–00:24:53 “when I finally face those two scumbags in the final battle, I’ll need you” — he asks for Jiren’s god-summoning button, like the one Zeno gave Goku and Sidra gave Bergamo.
  • 00:25:37–00:25:44 Jiren: “I stand with you”, and hands it over.
  • 00:26:06–00:26:12 Vegito: a God of Destruction should have access to the Pyramid of Power — “An angel known as Merus once showed me.”
  • 00:26:20 Jiren: the longest he could last is 10 days.
  • 00:26:29–00:26:57 Jiren snaps his fingers; the pyramid appears; he walks in and the doors shut.
  • 00:27:51–00:28:18 Vegito blasts the doors to rubble.
  • 00:28:26–00:28:35 “if I’m ridding every universe of their god of destruction, then this one will be no exception. Train hard, warrior.”
  • 00:28:47–00:29:27 Inside, Jiren sees the only door out lost; “betrayed by the god killer”, he must stay there “for seemingly the rest of eternity”.

Uncertainties

  • The village name “Dora” (00:07:26) is as heard; its spelling isn’t confirmed.
  • Vegito’s shout as Marcarita dies is heard as “TIE!” (00:18:45); the narration then has her erased, so it was probably “HAKAI” [?].
  • Whether Vegito means Jiren to train inside forever for the “final battle” or simply to get rid of him is left open: he says both “I’ll need you” (00:24:31) and “this one will be no exception” (00:28:26). See jiren-trapped.
  • Vegito says Merus “once showed me” the Pyramid of Power (00:26:06) — in the source series Merus trained Goku, so this is probably Goku’s memory (inferred).
  • Several lines have no speaker label; who speaks at 00:26:20 (Jiren) and 00:21:30 (Toppo, garbled) is (inferred).
  • Count: with Marcarita dead, five angels remain by our tally (inferred: six after ep 0021 00:28:37); the episode gives no count.
