Summary

Champa and Vados are gone, “Ten years to the day” since Vegito got rid of Beerus (ep 0040 00:00:44–00:01:16). Kefla, drained and one-armed, starts a confession to Cabba before he cuts her off; Vegito tells them he came for gods, not brats, and to take their dying king home to a recovery chamber (ep 0040 00:01:29–00:03:14). Goku Black lands in front of Vegito, confusing Cabba — wasn’t Vegito part Goku? — while Kefla and Cabba fly the king off into space (ep 0040 00:03:35–00:07:21). Vegito stops Black from shooting the fleeing Saiyans and demands to know how he survived Zeno (ep 0040 00:07:50–00:09:05). Black explains: as Zeno erased him he absorbed Zamasu’s life force, woke in a white void with Zeno nearby and his power intact, his time ring only slightly damaged, and fled to another timeline; for a decade he has searched for whatever god “higher than Zeno” spared him — which led him to Vegito and his three rings (ep 0040 00:10:16–00:12:26). When Vegito suggests simply raiding other timelines’ Gowasu, Black says every Gowasu has been warned of the god killer and hidden the box; Vegito, realising his reputation precedes him everywhere, rages that without rings — “Those extra lives” — he may never beat Zeno and the Grand Priest, and goes for Black’s ring (ep 0040 00:12:41–00:15:42). Black dodges through a time portal and shows “the true abilities of the Time Rings”: hundreds of portals releasing “fractionally alternate” versions of himself, all transforming with him into a final form — white hair, mastered Ultra Instinct and Merged Zamasu’s halo (ep 0040 00:16:01–00:21:43). In base form Vegito sweeps a Hakai-infused Kamehameha across the sky and erases all the clones, then appears behind Black as Vegito Blue and seizes his throat (ep 0040 00:23:36–00:29:59). Black pleads that their goals align — he is “anatomically Goku” and could help kill the Grand Priest — and Vegito appears to agree (ep 0040 00:30:05–00:32:39). Instead, with Whis’s staff he turns Black’s lone green Potara into a black, angel-grade pair, puts the second on his own ear and fuses with him; Vegito emerges unchanged but with Merged Zamasu’s halo — “There can only be one god killer in this story” — and four time rings again (ep 0040 00:32:47–00:37:24). In Universe 12, its God of Destruction, Giin, tells his angel Martinu the time has come: “Awaken Geiber now!” (ep 0040 00:37:29–00:38:00).

  • “Ten years to the day” (00:00:56) since Beerus’s erasure — this fits the ten-year imprisonment only if Vegito’s whole hunt took place within days of his release, which doesn’t fit his travels (inferred; possibly loose wording).
  • Black “removed all twelve gods of destruction in his own universe” (00:30:24–00:30:34) — compare ep 0010 00:06:11, where Zamasu and Goku Black got rid of all the gods in Trunks’s timeline.
