Summary

Giin, rattled by “Ultra Kaioken” — what Kai would teach the god killer that? — has the wizard amplify the seal, and Gaiba’s medallion, really a restraint, shatters: he swells into an Oozaru-sized beast while Vegito senses his life failing (ep 0042 00:01:43–00:07:40). As Giin boasts of making the boy relive “his father’s death by Vegito’s hand”, Vegito appears before the wizard and erases him with a Hakai (ep 0042 00:07:53–00:10:31). Giin and Martinu attack together; Vegito chokes Martinu from behind and drains him with his Cell tail, and Giin, to catch Vegito too, erases his own angel with a Hakai — but Vegito had already slipped away (ep 0042 00:10:55–00:18:27). Vegito cuts off Giin’s legs below the knee and pins him with an energy collar to watch (ep 0042 00:19:01–00:22:17). The seal outlives its maker: Gaiba’s mouth beam beats Vegito’s Kaioken Final Flash until “Kaioken times 20” turns it, then Gaiba crushes him from above (ep 0042 00:23:49–00:30:00). Vegito lifts the giant off, goes “Kaioken x 100”, hurls him into the sky and punches clean through him with Goku’s Dragon Fist — “ULTRA DRAGON FIST!” (ep 0042 00:31:11–00:35:31). Instead of killing him, Vegito uses Spirit Fission to pull out the spell; Gaiba returns to his small, true form and begs to avenge his family himself, and Vegito promises him the honour (ep 0042 00:36:53–00:42:43). As they reach to shake hands, Giin — calling Gaiba a failure and the Oracle Fish a fraud — erases the whole planet; Gaiba vanishes and Vegito seems to as well (ep 0042 00:42:48–00:47:08). Giin wakes in a white void, thinking it the afterlife of the erased — but it is the inside of a Pyramid of Power, where Vegito, forced to choose whom to save, brought him instead of Gaiba (ep 0042 00:47:08–00:51:39). In his final form Vegito gouges out Giin’s eyes, drains his Hakaishin energy, tears off his face and erases him, then vows over Gaiba’s broken pendant to bring him and his family back (ep 0042 00:52:25–00:56:37). Watching on a screen, the Grand Priest slams the table: Zeno’s “game” has gone too far — Vegito will now face “The five strongest in the multiverse” (ep 0042 00:56:41–00:58:05).

Uncertainties

  • dropped a scream line (00:33:18).
  • How Vegito escaped the planetary Hakai — his arm was already vanishing (00:45:45–00:46:38) — isn’t said; whether a time ring was spent isn’t stated (possible, inferred from ep 0034’s rules). Nor is it said how he got Giin into a Pyramid of Power.
  • Vegito’s first words in the void (00:48:33–00:48:59) and Gaiba’s cry at 00:39:48 are missing from the transcript.
  • Gaiba reverts to “a young child” (00:39:17–00:39:25) though ep 0041 called him “a young man” — probably his true, younger form (inferred). He is “left behind” in the erasure (00:49:46) and Vegito mourns him (00:56:24), so he is taken as erased.
  • “the saiyan prince’s signature attack” (00:25:59) is presumably the Final Flash or Galick Gun (inferred).
  • “Kaioken” at 00:32:22 was heard “Kaiju” (corrected [?]); elsewhere the narration calls the giant Gaiba a “kaiju” on purpose.
  • Giin’s “the other three left” (00:43:50) — the three other surviving Gods of Destruction apart from Jiren — Arak, Iwan and Mule (inferred: Arak is “one of the last three gods”, ep 0047 00:18:49, and Iwan and Mule “the two remaining” after him, ep 0049 00:43:02); “especially, you owe me” isn’t addressed to anyone named.
  • Whether the four hooded figures are really present or in the Grand Priest’s mind isn’t known (00:58:05).
