Episode 0027
Summary
In mastered Ultra Instinct, Goku and Ultra Cell clash fist to fist, the shockwave flattening what was left of West City, whose people Cell had already absorbed (ep 0027 00:01:29–00:04:19). With hand-to-hand even, Cell turns to the Z fighters’ techniques: Yamcha’s Wolf Fang Fist, Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon fired at a tenth of the charge time, and Tien’s Tri-Beam, which buries Goku and tears off his destroyer’s garb (ep 0027 00:05:44–00:12:07). Back in base form, Goku despairs that Cell is “the best parts of all of us” and seems to call on his dead friends; Cell shoots him in the forehead with Frieza’s death beam (ep 0027 00:12:12–00:14:50). Goku stays standing and rises in Ultra Ego — a Saiyan transformation that Cell’s data can’t copy (ep 0027 00:14:56–00:17:04). Cell still batters him and kicks him into a building, but Ultra Ego grows stronger with every beating and with anger, as Goku learned training with Beerus (ep 0027 00:17:43–00:20:50, 00:23:18–00:23:27). Their Kamehamehas meet; Cell, who had barely been trying, starts to win (ep 0027 00:21:02–00:24:36). Then a second Ultra Ego Goku — a copy made with Tien’s multi-form technique — flies out of the building and Hakais Cell at point blank (ep 0027 00:24:40–00:26:50). Cell stops his own erasure with a Hakai on the clone, counting on Piccolo’s regeneration to survive the beam, but Goku turns his into a “Kamehameha-kai” — the first in Dragon Ball history — and erases Cell completely (ep 0027 00:26:52–00:29:04). Exhausted, Goku collapses: “Daddy really did it, Gohan!” (ep 0027 00:29:15–00:29:46). Whis has watched it all in a crystal orb, and Beerus decides Goku is finally ready for him (ep 0027 00:29:58–00:30:45).
