Overview
The prophet fish of the Dragon Ball gods, never shown on screen, only quoted. Belmod says every God of Destruction has access to one and uses its foretelling to pick the next candidate (ep 0029 00:23:40–00:23:58). Its prophecies drive several gods: Champa’s belief that the King of Sadala would be his universe’s strongest warrior (ep 0035 00:09:35; ep 0039 00:06:45–00:10:28), the Omni King’s fear of the one who would come to kill him (ep 0174 00:02:45–00:03:05), and the destroyers who come looking for a successor in Omni Vegito’s past (ep 0197 00:25:30–00:25:40; ep 0200 00:34:10–00:34:17). Not all trust it: Giin, disappointed in Gaiba, calls it “a fraud” (ep 0042 00:42:55–00:43:18).
As of its last mention (ep 0201): in Omni Vegito’s timeline, Gaiba is greeted by someone who has “heard a lot from the Oracle Fish” about his power (ep 0201 00:00:24).
Affiliations & relationships
- Gods of Destruction: each has access to one (ep 0029 00:23:40–00:23:58).
- Beerus (GT timeline): hopes the half-hearted challenger isn’t the one the fish prophesied (ep 0013 00:05:15–00:05:26).
- Champa: trusts it about the King of Sadala (ep 0035 00:09:35; ep 0039 00:06:45–00:10:28).
- Giin: always suspected it was a fraud, and says so when Gaiba fails him (ep 0042 00:42:55–00:43:18).
- Omni King Vegito: it foretold the one who would kill him (ep 0174 00:02:45–00:03:05).
Abilities / traits
- Foretells the future: successors, killers and rising powers (ep 0029 00:23:40–00:23:58; ep 0174 00:02:45–00:03:05; ep 0197 00:25:30–00:25:40).
- Its reliability is disputed (ep 0039 00:06:45–00:06:55; ep 0042 00:42:55–00:43:18).
Variants
- Never shown, so its versions can’t be told apart: it is quoted in Ultra Vegito’s own timeline (ep 0029, 0035–0042), the GT timeline (ep 0013), god-killer Goku’s timeline (ep 0193 00:03:45–00:03:53) and Omni Vegito’s timeline (ep 0174; ep 0197–0201). Whether this is one oracle or one per universe or timeline isn’t said; Belmod’s “every destroyer has access to one” suggests several (inferred).
