Summary

The figure leaving the pyramid isn’t Vegito but Frieza, in a new “true black demon Frieza” form gained in years of training with Zamasu — back to his final-form size — who calls himself “the heir of the great demon, Lucif” (ep 0078 00:01:43–00:03:33). His voice stirs the real Jiren’s memory of the Tournament of Power; Makoto, finding his hold loosening — “splitting myself between two of these mortals has more drawbacks than i initially thought” — sends Jiren at Frieza, who stops every punch with one finger (ep 0078 00:04:21–00:08:43). Makoto uses Hit’s body to cast a “time freeze”, but Frieza breaks through it, drives both into the mountains, then rips off the tails of the two blood-demon forms they take and beats them with them (ep 0078 00:09:31–00:19:50). About to finish them, Frieza is stopped by Goku, in base form and scarred from decades of training: “you don’t get to call the shots Vegito will decide if this guy is worth adding to our cause” (ep 0078 00:20:10–00:21:40). Makoto sends a blob of his blood at Goku to take him over, but a Seraphim eye in Goku’s right eye burns it away — “i’m already part of another fusion” — and Makoto, burned, leaves Hit and Jiren, who lie unconscious but free (ep 0078 00:23:00–00:25:50). Seeing a mortal use the Seraphim’s divine smite, learned “only… through Dai’s teachings”, Makoto takes a last, Lucif-like form; Goku pushes him back with a palm and swallows him with a Dragon Smite that explodes harmlessly over the planet (ep 0078 00:26:00–00:37:40). As Goku starts to give the beaten Makoto some energy, a divine blade from above skewers Makoto through the chest; a dark figure standing over him says the smiting of demons “is far from a mortal’s job… leave this to me child” — the fifth of the five strongest (ep 0078 00:37:50–00:40:07).

  • From about 00:05:01 the transcript is lowercase, and from about 00:18:00 it runs one or a few words per line; timestamps from there on mark the start of a stretch, not a single line.
  • Whether Makoto dies of the blade isn’t stated: he is “gag[ging] for dear life” (00:38:50).
  • “Dai’s teachings” and “Dai or his lackeys” are heard “die” (00:26:34, 00:27:20); corrected per the name bank (compare “Master Dai”, ep 0069).
