Summary

Swollen and pupil-less after absorbing Broly, Vegito tests Broly’s mouth beam — purple now — and erases a range of ice mountains, then returns to his usual form: every God of Destruction who killed his family is dead, but his mission won’t end until they’re brought back (ep 0069 00:01:53–00:05:40). Makoto, in his blood-demon form, warns that two demons won’t be allowed to fight in the mortal realm for long — “The fifth is most likely already on his way” — and that his own time in this form is short (ep 0069 00:06:18–00:06:37). His four tails pierce and batter Jiren, who rallies with demonic power and a huge dark energy ball; Makoto shields with his tails and fires a mouth beam through it (ep 0069 00:07:26–00:25:48). Weakening as “Lucif’s energy” threatens to overcome him — which would bring the fifth or the priest to erase him — Makoto lets Jiren close in, drives his tails through his own body into Jiren’s gut, then bursts into blood that pours into Jiren’s wound (ep 0069 00:26:08–00:34:00). Jiren falls with “Son Goku… I failed!”, then rises with Makoto’s red Seraphim eyes: Makoto has taken his body as “my dear vessel”, and sets off to find Vegito, whose body may be greater still — enough to beat Z and prove “Master Dai” wrong (ep 0069 00:34:08–00:36:49). Vegito, hungry and missing Chi-Chi’s cooking, flies through space feeling as strong in base as he once was in Super Saiyan Blue (ep 0069 00:36:56–00:38:22). A spaceship meets him: Frieza, alive, who has been watching and waiting for him with a “proposal of equal value” to the one Vegito once brought him in the afterlife — and who answers Vegito’s dismissal by revealing Black Frieza, a form ten years in the making (ep 0069 00:38:29–00:42:45).

Key events

  • 00:01:53–00:02:37 Vegito’s swollen “bulk-top” form after absorbing Broly: larger, taller, pupils gone — “this is what your power felt like… I feel like a monster.”
  • 00:03:11–00:03:57 He fires a purple mouth beam that erases a mountain range of ice; “Don’t even need to power it up before release” (00:04:38).
  • 00:04:20 He reverts to his normal form.
  • 00:05:19–00:05:40 “Now what? Every god of destruction, every single one of my family’s killers, now lies dead. Revenge may be mine, but until they’re brought back, my mission does not end.”
  • 00:06:18–00:06:37 Makoto: “I don’t suppose two demons will be allowed to battle here in the mortal realm for too long. The fifth is most likely already on his way… I haven’t got long like this either.”
  • 00:07:26–00:07:44 “Allow me to show you a true demon!” — he grows ever more monstrous.
  • 00:07:55–00:08:12 Jiren: “If looking like you is the fate left for me, for using this so-called demon power, then you may have finally just given me one good reason to reject it.”
  • 00:09:12–00:09:41 A tail stabs through Jiren’s side.
  • 00:09:57–00:10:22 “You have a lot more to be aware of than just simple arms and legs with us!”
  • 00:11:29–00:11:42 “Get up… I still have just enough time, before the power of Lucif overwhelms me!”
  • 00:12:12–00:12:30 Jiren: “It cut through my body like it was nothing!… Why did he spare me?”
  • 00:13:26–00:13:37 Makoto: “Show me how much more you can tap into the great Lucif’s power!”
  • 00:14:49–00:15:43 Jiren’s punch lands on Makoto’s face without effect: “I knew I should have gone for Vegito instead!”
  • 00:16:46–00:17:03 The four tails block every punch.
  • 00:17:19–00:17:27 Jiren breaks through; “Fight with your own!… Show me you have even a shred of honor!” (00:18:05–00:18:14).
  • 00:19:12–00:19:47 Makoto appears behind Jiren as if by Instant Transmission and whips him with his tails.
  • 00:21:05–00:21:14 Jiren: “now that I’ve gone down this path, I couldn’t run from my destiny, even if I wanted to.”
  • 00:21:44–00:22:28 A huge ball of dark energy forms in Jiren’s hand; Makoto: “he’s tapping into even more demon energy… His body truly has a talent for handling Lucif’s power!”
  • 00:23:17–00:24:18 The ball, like a Spirit Bomb, grinds against a shield of four touching tails.
  • 00:24:53–00:25:32 Makoto fires a red mouth beam “in Broly-like fashion” straight through the ball into Jiren.
  • 00:25:52–00:26:03 Jiren: “I cannot die here… Son Goku would never forgive me in the afterlife.”
  • 00:26:08–00:26:35 Makoto: “those branded as demons have a fate far worse than death… It is why I hid myself for all these years in the mortal realm, containing this power”.
  • 00:26:55–00:27:22 Blood forced from his organs: “I’m reaching my limit! Lucif’s energy will overcome me!… I’d be erased by the fifth, or the priest instantly! I have to do it now!”
  • 00:28:43–00:28:53 “Come to me, my vessel!” — he opens all eight limbs to Jiren’s attack.
  • 00:31:01–00:31:49 “Fine! I give up! You win this battle!… But I win the war!” — his four tails stab through his own body into Jiren’s gut.
  • 00:32:20–00:32:43 He licks Jiren’s blood off his face.
  • 00:33:13–00:33:34 “Because there’s always so much life around me!” — he bursts into a wave of blood that shoots into Jiren’s wound.
  • 00:34:08–00:34:40 A hole through his stomach, Jiren falls: “Son Goku! I failed!”
  • 00:35:09–00:35:29 He rises — “Finally, a body fit for a demon!” — with “the same red Seraphim eyes as Makoto once had”.
  • 00:35:38–00:35:55 Makoto, in Jiren: “I told you I would get you, my dear vessel, Jiren the Grey! Your body will allow my powers to grow even further! A body to truly handle the power of Lucif!… use my blood demon form without fear of death!”
  • 00:36:02–00:36:33 “if you are only the weaker of the two god killers… His body may be an even greater vessel than yours! Just the body I need, to take down Z, and prove to Master Dai that he was always wrong about me! Vegito!”
  • 00:37:05–00:37:38 Vegito: “Before I go and find the fourth, I better recover some energy! I haven’t eaten in ages!… I miss Chi-Chi’s meals!… Soon, my love!”
  • 00:38:07–00:38:22 “Broly’s power is truly one of the best additions I ever made! I feel as strong now in base as I would have in blue! Maybe the rest of the five won’t be needed after all!”
  • 00:38:40–00:39:01 A presence: “Did the fourth of the five strongest find me already?” — “Not quite, Monkey…”
  • 00:39:09–00:39:40 A Frieza-race spaceship; Frieza, in his final form in his hover chair.
  • 00:39:44–00:39:53 Frieza: “I may not be the fourth, but I may be just as much a challenge for the likes of you two monkeys! Or should I say, three…”
  • 00:39:56–00:40:27 Vegito: “Frieza! You survived too?!… Didn’t you learn your lesson enough last time?!”
  • 00:41:02–00:41:25 Frieza: “I have been watching you, and I have been waiting for your eventual arrival to this godforsaken universe! You approached me once in the afterlife with a proposal that could benefit me, which it has, but now, I have a proposal of equal value to you!”
  • 00:41:30–00:41:45 Vegito: “I’ve got bigger things to worry about now! Far bigger fish!”
  • 00:42:12–00:42:45 “for the first time in the Ultra Vegito series”: Black Frieza — “first… achieved 10 years ago, from just a couple weeks of training! And now, after a decade…”

Characters appearing

  • Ultra Vegito (after absorbing Broly)
  • Makoto (blood demon; then inside Jiren’s body) · Jiren (possessed)
  • Frieza — Black Frieza (first appearance in Vegito’s own timeline)
  • Mentioned: Lucif, the fifth of the five, the Grand Priest (“Master Dai”), Z, Chi-Chi, Broly, Son Goku

Threads

Uncertainties

  • The swollen form is “bulk-top” as heard (00:01:53); he speaks as Vegito and returns to Vegito’s form, which suggests Vegito won out over Broly (inferred).
  • Frieza’s “You approached me once in the afterlife with a proposal” (00:41:12) probably refers to Goku recruiting him from Hell for the Tournament of Power in the source series (inferred).
  • Whether Jiren is dead inside his own body, or only suppressed, isn’t said here; he is only suppressed — Makoto is forced out of him (ep 0078 00:25:03) and Jiren goes free (ep 0085 00:09:54).
