Episode 0025
Summary
On Beerus’s planet, Beerus warns that Cell has grown much stronger in the seven days Goku trained, and Whis hints that Goku may be surprised by how Cell looks; Goku decides he is ready, promising Beerus a rematch afterwards (ep 0025 00:01:31–00:04:26). Whis drops him on Earth, about four miles from Cell; Goku turns down his old gi — a gift from Master Roshi, whose killer is still on the planet — and keeps the destroyer’s outfit (ep 0025 00:04:46–00:06:39). In a ruined city, Dr. Gero — spared by Vegito — urges Cell to stop absorbing humans and find Goku (ep 0025 00:07:13–00:07:56). Goku arrives; Gero blames him for the Red Ribbon Army’s fall and says he lost his humanity waiting decades for revenge (ep 0025 00:08:25–00:10:03). Cell turns around as Perfect Cell: since 17 and 18 had been destroyed, Gero built two near-identical replacement androids for him to absorb, and he has absorbed everyone in the city (ep 0025 00:10:24–00:14:25). Mr. Satan bursts in to fight “the monster”, and Gero runs him through; his last word is for Videl (ep 0025 00:15:26–00:18:07). In fury Goku seizes Gero’s bloody hand and erases him with a Hakai (ep 0025 00:18:54–00:19:55). Grieving his “father”, Cell powers up beyond Super Saiyan 2 — Goku senses Vegeta’s, Piccolo’s and Gohan’s energy in him — and Goku answers with his own Super Saiyan 2 (ep 0025 00:19:57–00:22:46). They trade blows evenly until Cell knocks Goku into a building and mocks Gohan’s last moments (ep 0025 00:23:39–00:29:05). Goku bursts out in mastered Ultra Instinct — and Cell enters mastered Ultra Instinct too: “Now let the real Cell games begin” (ep 0025 00:29:29–00:31:16).
