Summary

Whis, red Seraphim eyes showing, tells the dying Yamcha that he knows him well — and that he is his enemy; he summons a new, demonic staff topped with a skull and a dark red crystal, and kills Yamcha with a red beam through the heart (ep 0134 00:01:34–00:03:42). Piccolo senses Yamcha’s death, burns down the serpent-like demon in front of him and flies to the body, where he finds Whis (ep 0134 00:04:08–00:06:48). Whis says gods and angels were never meant to protect mortals, only to keep the balance, and that mortals forget their place; he asks Piccolo’s forgiveness for what he is about to do (ep 0134 00:07:57–00:09:50). Piccolo answers by turning Orange — power drawn from the Namekian warriors he absorbed — but Whis dodges with his hands behind his back and kicks him away; Whis notes that Saiyans aren’t the only mortals who need putting down (ep 0134 00:10:31–00:14:18). Piccolo’s upgraded Hellzone Grenade keeps chasing Whis until it hits, so Whis stops time completely — a step up from the brief time reversal he once had — and beheads the frozen Piccolo with his staff (ep 0134 00:15:00–00:21:49). Whis wipes away tears again, then reports on a red screen to Lucif, the horned Omni King, who demands to see the body, calls Whis “more demon than I thought” and says he takes after his father; Lucif adds that it is time to deal with the god killers (garbled) (ep 0134 00:22:44–00:26:01). Meanwhile Goku, Vegeta and Ultra Trunks step out of a portal into a peaceful, untouched city in Universe 11 (ep 0134 00:26:23–00:27:44). Eight older-looking Pride Troopers arrive, and Dyspo, blaming Goku for what happened to Toppo, charges — and is clotheslined by Vegeta in one move (ep 0134 00:28:24–00:33:35). The troopers say Jiren has changed and no longer talks to them; he wiped out a demon invasion here, leader included, in about ten minutes and left (ep 0134 00:33:56–00:35:08). As the Saiyans prepare to leave, something crashes onto Vegeta: Jiren, still with two demonic horns, pinning him into a crater, while Vegeta lights his purple Seraphim (ep 0134 00:36:43–00:38:55).

Key events

  • 00:01:34–00:02:18 Yamcha begs Whis for an answer; Whis wipes away a tear and calls him his enemy.
  • 00:02:39–00:03:17 A demonic staff appears in Whis’s hand: a skull at the top and a trident holding a dark red-and-black crystal ball — narration: it replaces the angel staff given to Vegito.
  • 00:03:17–00:04:08 A red blast from the staff pierces Yamcha; he dies — narration: presumably Whis’s first human kill.
  • 00:04:08–00:04:46 Piccolo feels Yamcha’s energy vanish and hopes it is a technique: “Tell me you didn’t die again”.
  • 00:05:06–00:05:33 Piccolo incinerates a scaly serpent demon (perhaps a demon king) with a mouth beam.
  • 00:06:09–00:07:15 He lands by Yamcha’s body and finds Whis.
  • 00:07:34–00:08:18 Piccolo accuses the gods of preying on the weak; Whis: it gave him no pleasure, and gods and angels exist to keep balance, not to protect.
  • 00:08:38–00:09:16 Piccolo had come to respect Whis for helping Vegito against the gods.
  • 00:09:16–00:09:50 Whis: mortals forget the hierarchy; Piccolo won’t live to hear an explanation; he asks forgiveness.
  • 00:10:31–00:11:33 Piccolo transforms into Orange Piccolo, giant and golden-aura’d.
  • 00:11:49–00:12:28 Whis is privately impressed that a Namekian has reached divine ki — and decides Saiyans aren’t the only ones to be put down.
  • 00:12:48–00:13:41 Piccolo’s punch misses; Whis, arms behind his back, kicks him far away.
  • 00:14:01–00:14:18 Piccolo: this is the angels’ power Goku trained against.
  • 00:15:00–00:16:47 An army of energy balls surrounds Whis — Piccolo’s changed Hellzone Grenade.
  • 00:17:05–00:18:30 Whis vanishes out of the trap; the balls chase him and he has to dodge.
  • 00:18:49 Piccolo: these grenades won’t explode until they hit their target.
  • 00:19:31–00:20:24 Whis’s Seraphim eyes glow and time stops; Piccolo stays conscious but frozen.
  • 00:20:00 Whis: he used to be able to rewind time briefly; now he can stop it entirely.
  • 00:20:44–00:21:49 Whis apologises and cuts through Piccolo with the staff; when time resumes, Piccolo’s head comes off and the grenades explode behind Whis.
  • 00:22:08–00:22:58 Whis stands silent, eyes wet, then raises the staff; a red screen shows a horned, red-eyed figure.
  • 00:23:15–00:23:50 Whis reports to “Lord Lucif” — revealed on the screen as the Omni King, former devil of the demon realm.
  • 00:24:27–00:25:32 Lucif demands proof; Whis shows Piccolo’s body with a grunt of annoyance.
  • 00:25:32–00:25:53 Lucif: Whis is “more demon than I thought… You take after your father after all”.
  • 00:26:23–00:27:44 Goku, Vegeta and Trunks arrive in a futuristic city with no trace of demons; Trunks is sure Lucif would miss no planet.
  • 00:28:24–00:28:42 Eight Pride Troopers teleport in, all a little older.
  • 00:29:04–00:30:00 One accuses Goku over Toppo; Vegeta explains it was Vegito who beat Toppo and took his destruction energy, without killing him.
  • 00:30:21–00:32:26 Dyspo charges at Goku; Vegeta clotheslines him by the neck and drops him.
  • 00:33:18–00:33:56 Dyspo, on the ground, signals surrender; Vegeta demands Jiren.
  • 00:34:08–00:35:08 Kahseral (as heard): Jiren is long gone. Cocotte (as heard): Jiren no longer talks to them; he killed a demon invasion force and its leader in about 10 minutes and left for elsewhere.
  • 00:35:27–00:35:49 Trunks, privately, rates Jiren at Vegeta’s or Goku’s level.
  • 00:36:04–00:36:22 Goku is disappointed; Vegeta wants to move on.
  • 00:36:43–00:37:36 Something crash-lands on Vegeta; a voice in the smoke: “He’s arrived”.
  • 00:37:49–00:38:14 Jiren the Grey, “The second god killer”, still with two demonic horns, holds Vegeta’s face down in a crater.
  • 00:38:14–00:38:51 Goku grins; Vegeta activates his purple Seraphim.

Characters appearing

Threads

Uncertainties

  • Lucif’s last line is garbled (00:25:53–00:26:01): something like “time I [end] the god killers… We will eradicate everything he fought for”.
  • “You take after your father” (00:25:32–00:25:53): Whis’s father isn’t named here. The Grand Priest is Lucif’s younger brother (ep 0087) and, in the source series, the angels’ father — so Lucif may be Whis’s uncle (inferred).
  • The Pride Troopers’ names are as heard: “Carceral” is probably Kahseral and “Kakot” probably Cocotte (likely); Dyspo is clear.
  • Who says “It’s over for you guys now… He’s arrived” (00:37:23–00:37:36) is unclear (“this bow” is garbled).
  • The narration says Whis’s new staff replaces the angelic one “gifted to Vegito” (00:02:59); Vegito got Whis’s staff in ep 0004.
  • Yamcha died before, in the source series; “didn’t die again” (00:04:28) may refer to that.
