Summary

Goku is delighted to see Jiren, but Ultra Trunks flies at Jiren in a rage; Jiren, wary of a fighter he has never seen, jumps clear, and Vegeta waves off his son’s help (ep 0135 00:01:55–00:04:26). Vegeta, unhurt, means to show Jiren the true strongest of Universe 7, but Goku begs for the first fight and wins it by promising to show a form stronger than Vegeta’s (ep 0135 00:05:10–00:09:23). Jiren tells Goku he would never help Vegito or anyone like him: Goku and Vegeta are the same as Vegito, who trapped him in the pyramid and turned him into a monster (ep 0135 00:09:38–00:11:58). Goku apologises, says it was all Vegito’s doing, and offers himself as a punching bag; Jiren takes the smile as mockery, flares red demonic eyes and shakes the planet (ep 0135 00:12:29–00:14:08). Jiren knocks the base-form Goku around until Goku turns on mastered Ultra Instinct; they clash and Jiren is caught in a delayed explosion, unhurt (ep 0135 00:14:25–00:21:29). He breaks Goku’s chokehold with a throw and fires a red energy ball, and Goku answers in Seraphim stage 2 (ep 0135 00:21:55–00:25:08). Jiren is faster still and smashes Goku through a range of mountains; Vegeta decides Goku was bluffing, but Ultra Trunks says he isn’t done (ep 0135 00:26:42–00:29:18). Jiren tells the fallen Goku he has lost the purity that made him strong; Goku gets up, and under a gathering storm reveals the Green Seraphim, which he calls the God-Killer’s final form and the power that beat the Grand Priest (ep 0135 00:29:36–00:32:41). With one palm on Jiren’s chest he blows the giant away with unseen force (ep 0135 00:33:08–00:34:19). Vegeta, watching both his future son and Goku pass him, is overwhelmed by old memories of being surpassed and erupts with a planet-cracking burst of power (ep 0135 00:34:26–00:36:15).

Uncertainties

  • The cold-open lines at 00:01:07 are story and were kept.
  • Goku says the Green Seraphim is how “he” beat the Grand Priest (00:32:18) — “he” seems to be Vegito (inferred). In ep 0100–0101 Vegito’s green eyes came with the Completed Vegito re-fusion.
  • “TRIYUN” (00:04:40, 00:04:56) is a garbled shout, probably Vegeta yelling Jiren’s name (unclear).
  • Whether Goku’s last blow hurt Jiren isn’t shown; he is only pushed far away (00:33:52–00:34:19) and charges again next episode (ep 0136 00:03:44–00:04:37) before Goku beats and spares him (ep 0136 00:21:01–00:22:40).
  • Vegeta’s “nightmare” is the narration’s nod to the Android saga of the source series (00:34:54), not an event in this story.
