Summary

The Almighty Smite, “known only to an Archangel”, erases what it touches and sends it to the bottom of the demon realm; inside it, Dai tells Rani this is the only way to save her (ep 0157 00:01:18–00:02:47). Vegito, furious that Dai will “ruin my damn meal”, fires a huge blast, but the holy light tears it in two — “the power of an archangel, sent down from Akobel himself” (ep 0157 00:03:06–00:06:15). When the light fades, both are still there: Dai unchanged, Rani stripped of her devil armour and horns, her red eye cyan again — an angel once more (ep 0157 00:07:46–00:09:43). Dai explains that the smite sends evil to sector 10, that angels are immune, and that Rani, a former angel tainted by “this so-called Devil Gene”, survived but lost her devil powers; he offers her his hand (ep 0157 00:10:44–00:12:42). She calls him a thief who “removed my baby” — and Vegito seizes her head, smashes it on the floor, stamps on it, and drains her with his old Cell tail, claiming her power as light to balance his darkness (ep 0157 00:13:03–00:22:45). He spares Dai, who “still knows his place”, and wants his Almighty Smite as a trump card against the new Devil; he opens a portal to “the lair of the new devil” and Dai follows, promising his dead mother to bring Lucif back to her (ep 0157 00:23:42–00:26:17). In an unseen realm, Castiel tells his brother Akobel that his former lover has been murdered with the help of one of his “half-breed sons”; Akobel, hearing it was Rani, says they must meet the Elder Gods: “Multiverse 20” is close to disrupting the balance of power, and with both his sons involved “we can expect the worst” (ep 0157 00:26:37–00:30:51). Whis, with demonic Seraphim, strikes down the Beyond Beast Gohan with his demonic staff, saying it is the only way he can help him now (ep 0157 00:30:53–00:32:54). On the icy planet, Dante cradles the dismembered Virgil, who expects Lucif would kill them anyway; as Goku and Vegeta move to finish them, a portal opens above and Gohan hangs from it in chains, bloody but alive (ep 0157 00:33:02–00:37:16).

Uncertainties

  • What Rani meant by “my baby” isn’t explained here (00:13:15–00:13:31); Vegito waves it away (00:20:12–00:20:35). Her child later surfaces inside Trunks and says his mother is Rani and Vegito his father (ep 0175 00:02:17–00:07:57).
  • “Ronnie” is read as Rani, “Acobelle”/“Ako-Bel” as Akobel.
  • Castiel calls Akobel “brother”; narration calls Castiel “the presumably younger brother” (00:30:22); he is confirmed as the younger in ep 0185 00:05:01.
  • Who opened the portal holding Gohan isn’t shown; Goku and Vegeta guess Lucif (00:35:30–00:35:35).
  • Narration compares Gohan’s chains to “Vegeta’s own imprisonment” (00:36:48); read as Vegito’s ten years in chains (likely).
