Overview

The Dragon God, creator of the Super Dragon Balls, who allows one wish per 1000 years (ep 0004 00:09:08–00:09:55). Summoned by Zeno at Vegito’s demand, he granted Vegito’s wish early on Zeno’s orders, knowing it would end him, and faded away (ep 0093 00:12:11–00:33:03). When Zeno’s game ended, the eternal dragon named as Zalama appeared, granted the wish — reviving the Z fighters — and split into the seven Super Dragon Balls (ep 0102 00:35:55–00:40:30); he is not seen in person again in Vegito’s timeline. Other multiverses have their own Dragon God (see the hub).

Affiliations & relationships

Abilities / traits

  • Looks like a Namekian: green skin with pink patches, sharp teeth, a white hooded robe like Piccolo’s; carries a staff; floats meditating with eyes closed (ep 0093 00:13:14–00:13:47, 00:16:52).
  • Senses Lucif’s energy and knows his arm on sight (ep 0093 00:13:47–00:16:43).
  • Makes wishes “In the great language of the gods” (ep 0093 00:27:34–00:27:40).
  • The great dragon of the Super Dragon Balls emerges from his own body — “Revealing the namekian god, As the true identity, Of the ultimate, Wish granting dragon” (ep 0093 00:28:17–00:28:36).
  • Adds “a little addition, Of my own”: a stone board of power-and-life bars for Vegito, Dai and Zeno (ep 0093 00:31:31–00:32:49).
  • Vegito: he “couldn’t even make it into the 5 strongest” (ep 0093 00:18:22).

Variants

Status

  • Dead — faded “To nothingness, For eternity” after granting a wish before its time (ep 0093 00:32:09–00:32:15; Dai: “slaughtering a god”, 00:39:44–00:39:47).
  • After that: “ZALAMA, THE ETERNAL DRAGON OF THE SUPER DRAGONBALLS” appears once the game ends, grants the wish and splits into the seven Super Dragon Balls (ep 0102 00:35:55–00:37:28). Whether this is Zalama alive again or the dragon set loose by his wish isn’t said. See retcons.
