Episode 0169 Title Arch Angel Goku Cannot Keep Up With Jiren Released 2025-01-10 Length 35:38 Setting the Devil’s sector; the icy planet Watch YouTube ↗
Summary
Nephilim Vegito charges the Devil (called Lucif by the narration), who fires a demonic Galick Gun; Vegito stops the beam dead with an open hand and turns it back on him (ep 0169 00:01:07–00:06:24). Four clones of the Devil burst out of the smoke, calling Vegito “the failure who forsake Lucif’s power”; Vegito whistles, stretches, then beats all four with a punch, a spinning handstand kick and a throw that piles them together — “4 times the energy you’re expending to heal” (ep 0169 00:07:42–00:13:02). Forced back together, they form a many-headed abomination; Vegito kicks it skyward and calls down a pillar of black Nimbus Thunder that fries it (ep 0169 00:13:22–00:17:07). Beaten, the Devil threatens to kill himself and destroy the time rings so no one can have them; Vegito appears behind him with an axe kick raised (ep 0169 00:17:46–00:19:20). On the icy planet, Goku warns Jiren that Lucif is stronger than he thinks; Lucif tells Jiren he sent Vegito down to the demon realm personally and he is probably dead (ep 0169 00:19:23–00:21:39). Jiren introduces himself — “Jiren the Grey. A former god of destruction turned god killer. Killer of Belmod” — with access to the power of a devil, Lucif’s power; Lucif is amazed there is another godkiller (ep 0169 00:22:52–00:23:52). Ignoring Trunks’s greeting, Jiren clashes with Lucif as an equal, landing a punch and a backhand; Goku recalls that Jiren cleared every demon emperor from Universe 11 alone (ep 0169 00:24:22–00:29:40). Jiren senses Lucif is weaker than he should be; Lucif admits much of his power is going into “another matter” — black lightning starts to fall, Trunks stares at the sky in terror, and Lucif announces: “The merger is finally complete” — a black hole is swallowing the whole mortal realm (ep 0169 00:30:28–00:34:38).

Characters appearing
- Devil’s sector: Ultra Vegito · The Devil and four clones
- Icy planet: Jiren · Lucif · Goku · Vegeta · Ultra Trunks
- Mentioned: Belmod, Whis (“that angel” (inferred))
Threads
- Resolved: The Omni Devil plan — the merger is complete (its result is still to come)
- Advanced: The other Vegito · The final battle with Lucif · Jiren goes his own way · The time rings · Whis and Lucif
- Opened: The merged realms
Uncertainties
- “that angel recommended the wrong mortal” (00:30:02) is read as Whis, who found Vegito for Lucif (ep 0162) (inferred).
- Jiren’s devil power: he says it is Lucif’s own (00:23:16–00:23:22); how he got it isn’t said here (he was a destroyer touched by black lightning, ep 0056–0057 (context)).
- Whether the Omni Devil plan is now fulfilled — Lucif had said the merger would make him the Omni Devil — isn’t shown here; next episode he is the Omni Devil (ep 0170 00:01:17–00:01:44).
