Summary

Lucif keeps beating the possessed Trunks, swings him by the ankle and hurls him into Vegeta, burying them both, while the drained Goku can only watch (ep 0173 00:01:03–00:05:41). Jiren charges in; Lucif wraps himself in his black wings, slips away like a shadow when Jiren punches through, and hits him in the chest (ep 0173 00:06:19–00:10:21). As Goku decides to hold back so he can heal the others one more time, “Lucif Vegito” — the Devil — grips his shoulder and greets him as a friend (ep 0173 00:11:54–00:13:05). He taunts Goku as the only one who never ascended, “A glorified senzu bean”, and offers a choice: stay weak and watch everyone die, or “join with me… Give me your power… And I will deal with Lucif” — a gamble on whether he will switch sides (ep 0173 00:15:06–00:18:40). The choice isn’t shown. Later, as Lucif drags Vegeta face-first across the ground and throws him skyward, a cold, changed Goku catches Vegeta by the neck: “I’m finally going to do my part” (ep 0173 00:19:17–00:21:34). He dodges Lucif’s black energy ball, sets Vegeta down, and lands the first blows that really hurt Lucif’s new form — a kick, a backhand that dents his face, a body blow that drops him to his knees, and a kick that skids him across the ground (ep 0173 00:24:07–00:30:12). Lucif powers up in full rage and uppercuts him, but when the face comes down it is “our Vegito… Finally back in the mortal realm” (ep 0173 00:31:39–00:34:35). In Castiel’s multiverse, Castiel panics that a mortal merged the realms unnoticed — he fears Zeus and Akobel finding out — and starts to transform to execute the Omni King (ep 0173 00:35:01–00:36:13). Omni King Vegito calms him: he is Castiel’s creation and merged the realms not to challenge the Elder Gods but “To kill Vegito… The god killer”, about whom “Zuno the all-knowing” told him (ep 0173 00:36:36–00:38:28).

Uncertainties

  • What Goku answered, and how “Goku” turned out to be our Vegito, isn’t shown. Next episode Vegito explains that he was the “Lucif Vegito” all along, disguised with Buu’s shapeshifting (ep 0174 00:16:35–00:17:00); what Goku answered stays unshown.
  • Narration at 00:18:52–00:18:58 keeps “the true identity of this Vegito” open.
  • “Vegito…” at 00:33:43 — speaker unclear.
