Summary

Goten’s rage at Bardock’s death gives him Ikari-yellow eyes and, though he has no tail, turns him into a giant golden Oozaru with yellow eyes — “the first in this universe’s history to be born without a tail” (ep 0145 00:01:03–00:06:34). His mouth beam blasts Dante, who rises at “Three percent” (ep 0145 00:08:30–00:11:28). Goten’s tail knocks Dante into a mountain, but Dante grabs the tail, hurls the ape into the sky and fires a beam; their beams deadlock until Dante goes to “4%” (ep 0145 00:12:52–00:20:25). At that moment Ultra Trunks’s palm crackles again — his energy “being activated, but not by me” — and the young Trunks, eyes blank, re-enters Super Saiyan Rage and head-butts Dante, knocking the beam off line (ep 0145 00:21:19–00:23:24). The beam still opens Goten’s throat; he falls back into his boy form and dies in front of Trunks, who screams for help with no senzu or Dragon Balls (ep 0145 00:23:43–00:27:02, 00:33:48). Dante’s next blow is stopped by Ultra Trunks, stepping out of a time portal, followed by Vegeta, who hugs his son, and then Goku (ep 0145 00:29:52–00:34:52). Goku weeps over Goten and promises to bring him back (ep 0145 00:35:20–00:36:20). Dante says the two godkillers were next on his list anyway; Vegeta wants him, but Goku says “He’s mine” and turns with red Seraphim eyes “for the very first time” (ep 0145 00:36:46–00:38:32).
