Summary

Raging over his father’s apparent death, Vegeta remembers a night from his childhood when King Vegeta, chafing under Frieza, told him he was “Prince Vegeta IV”, the Saiyan born to unlock his people’s untapped power and bow to no god (ep 0113 00:01:04–00:07:55). Back on Yardrat his eyes turn Oozaru-red, brown fur covers his body and a tail forces its way out: “Ultra Oozaru Vegeta is born!” (ep 0113 00:08:05–00:10:09). King Vegeta, only playing dead, notes that Vegito never showed him this form (ep 0113 00:10:34–00:10:53). Vegeta shrugs off the demon king’s darkness blast, buries a fist in his gut, slices him in half with an energy blade and bites into his still-beating heart (ep 0113 00:12:08–00:18:12). Grief and rage unleash Tizer’s true form — huge, spiked, with a third eye and a voice like Lucif’s — and he vows to deliver Vegeta’s soul to Lucif (ep 0113 00:19:00–00:22:26). Tizer’s third eye traps Vegeta in an illusion of countless demon eyes, but Vegeta’s hand bursts out through that eye; the beaten Tizer shrinks back to teen size and Vegeta, in base, demands to know why he came, as King Vegeta rejoins him alive (ep 0113 00:27:29–00:33:48). On Kami’s Lookout, Tien distrusts the Saiyan army, Bardock vouches for it, and Goku returns with Piccolo to share Lucif’s plan (ep 0113 00:33:56–00:37:51). Using Whis’s staff to travel and Tien’s multi-form to split a thousand ways, Goku means to defend every planet; Vegeta, back with his father, says he can already make clones, a Yardrat technique (ep 0113 00:38:38–00:41:20). Then a humanoid demon steps out of a dark portal on Earth and with one word makes the heads of four Super Saiyans explode; Bardock, holding Gohan, steps up to face him (ep 0113 00:41:52–00:44:38).

Key events

  • 00:01:59–00:02:26 Flashback, decades ago: King Vegeta, stargazing with his son, resents Frieza, who “treats us like mere dogs”: “The Saiyans will come out on top in the end!”
  • 00:04:16–00:04:41 Annoyed by the boy’s answer, the King’s finger beam vaporises the apple in his hand.
  • 00:05:44–00:05:56 “You are Prince Vegeta IV, the Saiyan born with the strongest power level of any that came before you!… The Saiyan of legend”.
  • 00:07:25–00:07:43 “You, are not meant to bow down to the gods! To bow down to Frieza!… You alone, will find the true power of the Saiyans within you”; behind the King, the images of Frieza and Beerus (00:07:55).
  • 00:08:21–00:09:43 Red Oozaru eyes (“not like a demon”), brown fur up to his chin, darkened skin, then a tail, “forced out through sheer willpower alone”.
  • 00:10:09 “Ultra Oozaru Vegeta is born!”
  • 00:10:34–00:10:53 King Vegeta, “playing dead”, one eye open: “That form! Vegito never showed me that!”
  • 00:11:13–00:12:33 The demon king’s point-blank ball of darkness doesn’t move Vegeta.
  • 00:14:30–00:15:42 Vegeta’s fist in the king’s solar plexus — “Doesn’t feel so good, when it happens to you, does it demon?” — then an energy blade slices him in half.
  • 00:16:56–00:18:12 Like Vegito, Vegeta seizes the still-beating heart and bites into it: “So this is what a weakling tastes like!”
  • 00:19:15–00:19:34 “the mysterious monster, once within the child, would begin to surface finally”.
  • 00:21:02–00:21:46 Tizer’s voice deepens, “resembling Lucif’s”; he grows, his armour spikes, and a third eye opens — his “true ugly form”.
  • 00:22:17 Tizer: “For you father, I will hand deliver this soul to Lucif in your honor.”
  • 00:22:38–00:22:40 Vegeta: “It would save me the hassle of trying to find that clown myself!”
  • 00:27:29–00:29:00 Tizer’s third eye flashes; Vegeta finds himself in a dark plane of countless demon eyes that merge into a multi-eyed monster.
  • 00:29:54–00:30:03 Tizer: “The power of demons goes beyond just physical… You may die first in your mind”.
  • 00:30:30–00:31:14 A gloved hand bursts out through Tizer’s third eye; the eye is gone.
  • 00:31:49 Tizer: “Are you… A higher god?”; Vegeta fells him with one punch (00:31:57–00:32:20).
  • 00:32:48–00:33:21 Tizer shrinks back to teen size; Vegeta, in base: “tell me more about what brings you here. I promise to make your end painless”.
  • 00:33:33–00:33:48 King Vegeta, alive and proud: “Tell us, child!”
  • 00:34:17–00:35:42 On the Lookout, Tien wants to fight and doesn’t trust the Saiyan army: “The last time we had Saiyans invade, it didn’t exactly end well.”
  • 00:35:54–00:36:31 Bardock: in his timeline, “once Frieza was destroyed by Vegito, we dedicated our lives to saving planets and maintaining the order of the universe”.
  • 00:36:59 Goku returns with Piccolo; Goten is overjoyed.
  • 00:37:29–00:38:03 Goku tells the others about Kaida and Lucif’s plan: “Our strongest need to be protecting everywhere”.
  • 00:38:27–00:38:55 Dende: Lucif “truly is all the evil in the realm combined”; there must be “at least a few hundred planets” with life worth siphoning in this universe, “thousands more in the other universes”.
  • 00:39:02–00:39:29 Goku summons Whis’s staff — “the gift Whis left us from the very beginning” — to “go all over”.
  • 00:39:44–00:40:22 Goku: “I have enough power to split myself at least a thousand times”, using Tien’s multi-form; he’ll call for help if he meets an emperor.
  • 00:40:32–00:41:13 Vegeta, arriving with his father: “I know how to create clones already. It’s a staple technique of the Yardratians, along with gigantification… their so-called spirit control.”
  • 00:41:59–00:42:34 On Earth’s mountains, a demon “far more humanoid than seen previously” steps out of a dark portal.
  • 00:42:39–00:43:09 “Die!” — the heads of the four Super Saiyans chasing him explode.
  • 00:43:42–00:43:51 Goku: “There hasn’t even been a demon king or emperor here on Earth yet!”
  • 00:44:13–00:44:38 Bardock, holding his grandson Gohan, goes to challenge “demon royalty”.

Uncertainties

  • At 00:17:30 the narration says “Vegito” for the Oozaru prince; it is Vegeta (corrected, marked [?]).
  • The prince’s “Vegeta IV” is stated by King Vegeta (00:05:44); no number was given in earlier episodes.
  • Who speaks “Don’t worry kid, we got this!” (00:43:55) isn’t stated — probably Bardock to Gohan (inferred from 00:44:13–00:44:22).
  • The humanoid demon’s rank (king, emperor?) isn’t given; Goku’s line suggests none of that rank had reached Earth before (00:43:42).
