Summary

Told that Goku is dead, Vegeta vows to avenge him and the whole Saiyan race on Frieza, and his eyes turn to purple, “destruction level” Seraphim, which Champa says even Vados couldn’t teach (ep 0205 00:01:31–00:02:51). Champa warns that Zeno would destroy him if he went after Frieza, and reveals the real purpose of his training: a Tournament of Power in a week, with killing allowed, where Beerus will surely field Frieza and the winner gets a wish on the Super Dragon Balls (ep 0205 00:03:00–00:05:20). Vegeta enters for Universe 6 — but turns down the destroyer’s title, since Champa never sent him home (ep 0205 00:06:11–00:09:42). Universe 7’s fighter is Mecha Frieza, who boasts of killing Vegeta’s father and celebrates Kakarot’s death (ep 0205 00:11:29–00:13:45). Vegeta crushes Damon [?], cuts off Anilaza’s arm and incinerates Bergamo, while Frieza knocks out Obuni and Ribrianne (ep 0205 00:16:01–00:21:12). Vegeta takes on Jiren, first as a Super Saiyan 2, then in his “true” Ultra Ego, which the watching gods call stronger than an angel, and knocks him out of the ring (ep 0205 00:22:44–00:29:52). Frieza’s Mecha Black Frieza form falls to a single punch; Vegeta blasts off his arm and learns Frieza meant to wish for the power of all the gods (ep 0205 00:31:54–00:36:48). About to be destroyed, Frieza says Goku beat him, and that Beerus killed Goku, erased Earth and ordered Planet Vegeta’s destruction; Beerus shrugs it off, and Vegeta erases Frieza with Hakai (ep 0205 00:38:26–00:39:44). Given the wish, Vegeta asks Zalama for “the power of all gods combined”: every god — Zeno, Dai and Zalama included — turns to dust, and the god-killer Vegeta is born (ep 0205 00:40:23–00:42:57).

Uncertainties

  • Champa’s account (ep 0204) — Frieza killed Goku and Earth — is overturned by Frieza here, and Beerus doesn’t deny it (00:39:10–00:39:17). See retcons.
  • “He got rid of your whole planet. Twice!” (00:38:43–00:38:46) — what the second time was isn’t said.
  • Whether the angels also died: narration says “every single god” and “all gods” (00:41:51–00:42:39); Vados and the other angels aren’t named.
  • “Daemon” (Universe 4’s insect fighter) is read as Damon [?].
  • How Hera found and recruited this Vegeta isn’t shown.
